Latest word from major news networks is that Key CBS News sources are no longer backing the files.

are they trying to silence his daughter that said he was lying???

and did CBS mislead the general?

quote:
Retired Maj. General Hodges, Killian's supervisor at the Grd, tells ABC News that he feels CBS misled him about the documents they uncovered. According to Hodges, CBS told him the documents were "handwritten" and after CBS read him excerpts he said, "well if he wrote them that's what he felt."

Hodges also said he did not see the documents in the 70's and he cannot authenticate the documents or the contents. His personal belief is that the documents have been "computer generated" and are a "fraud".

CBS responds: ""We believed Col. Hodges the first time we spoke with him. We believe the documents to be genuine. We stand by our story and will continue to report on it."

This story has disaster written all over it for the Kerry Campaign.'
CBS needs to retract this story, and retract it soon, or suffer some serious long-term credibility damage.

I'm honestly getting sick of all this vietnam shit. I don't think there is a voter in this country that is honestly going to vote for either candidate based off of their Vietnam Serivce record.

I think Kerry has only himself to blame for putting so much focus on the Vietnam issue. I could go into depth with that one, but I won't.

Bush obviously has some things about his Vietnam record that he isn't too proud about coming out either.

All this stuff about Vietnam has made me lean toward Bush even thought I think he's a moron, and that someone off the street could run the country better than he is now. Kerry skirting the issues to talk about Vietnam all the time really bothers me. His constantly changing stance on the issues, obviously driven by poll results, also really gets on my nerves. If the guy had a solid platform with well developed ideas on how he was going to turn the country around, I would vote for him, but that has yet to happen. Instead he keeps bitching about Vietnam, and coming up with his week by week stance on Iraq.

Another thing that has started to bother me is the fact that we have around 280 million people in this country, and we only have two major parties. I think it's rediculous to have a political mindset that there is only a Democratic or Republican solution to the problem. I'm ready to see people stop voting to party line, and start voting what would be better in the interest of the citizens of this country.

i just started reading this, il quote this first.

Uhm, isn't Bush that has send America to 2 wars? and is always talking about how brave they are and stuff, and alot of sons and daughters died during these wars.

BUT his daughters or HIM self never went to any fucking war to know how it's like.

SO it is about Moral and bush has 0, one of the reasons why Kerry focus his campaign on this, so he will TRY to convince alot of people what a greedy weakling bush is..but i guess it has no use on you .

If you read what I said, you'll notice my reasons for leaning towards Bush. I know where Bush stands on the issues. I have no clue what so ever as to where Kerry stands due to the fact that 80% of the shit coming out of his mouth is about Vietnam or Iraq.

I realize I said "All this stuff about Vietnam is making me lean towards Bush," but if you paid attention to everything else I said, you'd notice I'm feed up with both of them talking about it. If Kerry would drop it already, and start giving a clear and defined list of plans he has for turning the country around, I would vote for him. He has yet to do that.

You get the same reply as LiquidX. If you read everything I said, and use your brain, you'll understand what I meant by that.

No he's not. He mentions it, but he never goes into depth about his plans. The only person talking about his health care ideas is his wife, and she just called everyone in America that doesn't vote for Kerry an idiot.

Kerry's talks about the economy have all been in context to all the spending in Iraq. He doesn't mention the fact that we didn't cut any spending at all to come up with the money, or the fact that he wants to squash the growth the economy is expriencing by increasing taxes.

He had the perfect chance to talk about all this stuff at the convention, but instead he talked about his past, and Vietnam.
