i think only-djs.com was totally mismanaged...

i ordered record from there 1 time. i ordered 4 records with shipping cost me $98 something canadian... most of that being shipping... i didnt get the order because customs had them... i would have had to drive all the way to toronto to pick them up and pay the customs fee... thats a buncha BS... they charge $50 just to send them to canada... FUCK THAT...

i spend many DAYTIME minutes on my cell cause it was the only phone i had calling only djs everyday. sometimes they answered sometime they didnt... i was taking in consideration the time differnce for me being on ontario. THEY IGNORED, say 9/10 emails... the only one they responded to was the one i wrote YELLING or USING CAPITOLS to tell them to at least give me an answer or if they were looking into it and all i got was an email yelling back at me...

I WOULD NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN... i would also suggest using a postal service to mail there orders rather than the 2 expensive options they had.

in the end im out $98 and whatever i paid on calling overseas on my cell and calling toronto customs..

but i do feel for all of you working at ONLY-DJS.com that had a shitty boss and maybe its best that he is gone so you can start your own thing... at least there is a reason why i was treated like i didnt matter and i can now rest and not be so pissy about the whole deal.

i order from www.chemical-records.com and they kick ass!! wide selection of records... real time website meanign what the have online is in stock! friendly people...
1 time i didnt receive my order and they sent me out another 1 after 28 days no questions asked!!

GO CHEMICAL!!

customs really shouldnt have charged you for vinyl. they shouldnt have seized it full stop tbh since customs charges only apply to declared consumer electronics products and vinyl aint consumer electronics. i also doubt that any of those vinyl have anything on them that could possibly be deemed objectionable enough to warrant a customs seizure since its usually only extreme pornos that get seized anyway.

yeah, i didnt really understand it myself but it has happened...

customs sent me a bill... and then send me a warning that if i didnt pick them up them would get sent to somewhere else...

if i wanted to i could have gotten a company in toronto to pass them through customs and send them to me for $60 roughly... but then the paper worked got messed up and it was too late. the records then got send to somewhere else and i enver heard from them again... customs are probably spining them right now on some poor guys techs the took!

it was a terrible experience!!

ah well

I order from chemical also..but one time I did get a vinyl that came in broken.. I emailed them but they want me to send it back...It would cost the same for shipping it back then if I bought a new one...They should've given me a promotional ID or some credit...but oh well..other than that..Chemical has been good thus far...

whaaaa?! $60?! they can shove it up their arse for free.

seriously though, i bought a delta 1010 from the states and i got charged £62 (about $110) in tax on an item that was declared as costing £250. i knew it was coming cuz its got an AC adaptor and a fuse. if it plugs into a wallsocket, its game for customs. so i bit the bullet and paid up.

but for a bunch of records?! if they seized them id write a letter to the mailing depot in which they were seized and ask exactly why they had been withheld pending customs charges and why you have to pay up 2/3s again of what you originally paid for those records (inclusive of p&p) just so you get them mailed to you as they should have been done in the first place

i dont know about the states and canada but over in the uk, juno.co.uk comes highly recommended. im not sure if they ship overseas but if they do and you plan on buying in bulk its gonna cost. they are however reliable as you like. if a record gets broken in transit or if they send you the wrong records they are very nice about replacing them.
