dont know if its lucid dreaming but... i have had some pretty strange dreams...
For example, in my French I class my teacher said one sentence "The word quarantine comes from the word quarante, meaning 40." I forgot about it the rest of the day, but my entire dream was me being quarantined inside of a big plastic wall. While i was dreaming, i knew that i was only dreaming this because of what she said...

EDIT*
I can also remember dreams that i've had when i was 5. I also have a lot of repeat dreams...which is strange. I would dream something, and then 2 years later dream it again but with a different ending

Is this similar to lucid dreaming?

Its called sleep paralysis. I have it from time to time. Often enough you'll see the craziest of things (like scary green fucking goblings looking down at you) cuz while youre technically "awake", you're still in a state of dreaming (hence your unalbe to move). Though im rather used to them, every time I have them I'm scared shitless...once I was even convinced that at that precise moment I wasnt gonna live. Most people experience sleep paralysis at least once in their life time, so enjoy it when you have it!

Astral projection is a very different thing to lucid dreaming...I'm sure you could find information on the net if you wanted a better idea of what it is.
