progressive trance reminds me of the sounds that come out when i bash my head continuously against a wall for a few minutes

im exactly the opposisite.

im soooo sick of a whole set of uplifting trance. Its so farken predictable and boring. Along with that theres never any contrast in uplifting trance sets. the whole feeling gets lost after like 4 tracks.

thats not to say that a whole set of prog when you in the mood for going off is the best, but for for fucks sake people, mix it up a bit - actually make your sets interesting!

Watch me speak german and French next time! (No, I'm bluffing. I suck at those languages, especially French!)

ill say it again, apparently there is no such thing as progressive trance. i showed my enthusiasm for artists like max graham and james holden and bedrock slammed me for calling their work progressive trance.

Holden's like techno/electro/german tech/acid and a TAD of progressive. Not a progressive trance DJ anymore. A set for about 4 months ago....find the prog

01. Josh Wink - Oakish
02. Rex The Dog - We Live In Daddy's Car
03. Jamie Anderson - Innova
04. Holden - A Break In The Clouds (Beaty Tool)
05. 16b - Inbetween Your Choice (2003 Mix)
06. PQM - They Just Won't Let Me Be
07. Sven Andersson - Unknown
08. Petter - All Together
09. Audibelle – Life's A Pitch (Southsoniks Remix)
10. G-Man - Quo Vadis
11. Reinhardt Voigt - Supertiel

Graham on the other hand can play prog trance for sure. He's 1 of the few DJ's out there who I would consider to be prog trance. What do the bedrock guys call Graham?

That's because they've seen the light!

But ehm... I don't really believe that. As far as my knowledge goes, they're still proggheadz!

i think the prog/tech-trance genre is necessary for the loungevity of trance on the whole. Prog-trance does often pursue different sounds and really if you think about it, alot of the biggest trance tunes in 03-04 have been leaning towards the progressive side.

Overseas especially in the states and canada there is a huge progressive trance scene and its only getting bigger, with alot of new progressive labels and artists coming out, its here to stay and is beneficial to the entire genre of trance in the long-term.
