As per the 'repetitive' one, just tell them to take the words away from any rap song (which are generally just 'oh, uh, yeah, bitch, ho' anyways) and then see if they notice anything REALLY repetitive...

sorry... still kinda sleepy... not that i'm much funnier when awake.

haha, thanks man...

By the way...
I think Beatles so repetitive too:
"she love you yeah yeah yeah....she loves you yeah yeah...." and lots of the other 2 minutes songs...

I like the rock stuff too, but the melodic and instrumental, not with nosense guitar noises... I like the bass guitar, so I recommend these tunes for ya:
Rush - yyz
Yes - heart of sunrise
Primus - Tommy the cat
Dream theater - Metropolis part 1
etc...

Re: Calling all trance addicts... help me ...

i like to argue my point of opinion, so i would usually say somthing like this to those questions....

"You re crazy, how do u listen to this same TUM TS TUM TS TUM beats all the day?"

easy. first i turn on my computer. then after that, i open up my music folder. finally, and this is the really amazing part, i click on a set that i want to listen to. Hell, sometimes i just go to DI.com and listen to stramin radio...

"You re funny, all music are the same, the difference is the song name"

I dont suppose you would say that to all the teeny bopper punk bands out there would you?

"The music u listen to is boring because the intro haves 2 minutes..."

ever heard of metallica? yeah, shut your mouth

"Your music have no feelings, you can feel nothing listening to this stuff..."

i suppose G Unit puts "feelings" into their music too huh? yeah, theres so much emotion just listening to them talk about bitches, cars, bling, and sippin yak

"The music you listen dont have vocals, sucks..."

um...... what the hell are you taking about? have you ever even listened to more than one trance song in your life?

"Your music is for "druggaddicts"...

so when snoop raps about smoking weed, i dont suppose that has anything to do with drugs then does it?

My friends don't care, and even listen to a lot of what I listen to. Most of the people who ask me those questions are people I've just met, at which point I usually just say, "I like it, you don't, what does it matter?" Though, D-Res' responses might be used some day.

"You re crazy, how do u listen to this same TUM TS TUM TS TUM beats all the day?"

i say "the same way u listen to ur 4/4 (4 by 4)beats all day."

"You re funny, all music are the same, the difference is the song name"

i say "Buy every single album released in recent years of a certain genre and everything is gonna sound the same."

"The music u listen to is boring because the intro haves 2 minutes..."

i saw "2-3 minute intro's buld tension....which is all the more fun when its released...dont u know about tension and release in music?"

"Your music have no feelings, you can feel nothing listening to this stuff..."

i say "and im sure every artist is writing thier own stuff as well...do me a favor and tell me which emotion to play off of? And if u tell me corny love cliche's or riding on dubs...then cram it and find a fucken clue"

"The music you listen dont have vocals, sucks..."

if its a women i say "there are some quality vocal tracks...but not enough...i can make u a cd of good vocals...when can i give it to u?"

if its a guy i say " wat kind of vocals are u into and maybe i can help?" then kick his teeth if he mentions cheese and make sure he never joins the scene ever...

"Your music is for "druggaddicts"...

i say "cocaine is a helluva drug! can u seriously only have to point 1 finger at the trance scene? no other scene got bigger cuz of drugs?"

As for the drugs...

My friend once brought it up that some of the greatest artistic works of a generation were by those who experimented with drugs - take the Beatniks for example, the hippies, etc... I'm not compering trancers to hippies in a literal sense, but drug use does seem to be prevalent in the more insightful artists of generations. The Beatniks created great works of poetry and literature; trance artists create a sort of auditory poetry, if you will

Just something to consider the next time somebody talks about drugs and music/expression. Drugs aren't the devil, ya know!
