Be Cool!

Skanuga - first of all, welcome! I'm into psy trance as well (hey, I'm only a 35 min. flight away from Goa!), though probably not as much as you are. Where you originally from and how old are you? You sound like a good guy, but you may wanna go a bit easy on the whole PLUR-we-will-all-come-together-and-hug-trees-and-tap-into-each-others-aura schpeel. It's kinda 'been-there-done-that' for quite a while now......and some of the ppl on this forum can get pretty vicious .

Dude, those pics are funny, but most if not all of them are in Goa, where all those hippies have been living forever, 'coz no other country will friggin' take them! Anyway, I go to Goa every year and I'll be partying and dancing with them come december. Yeah, so they look like Jesus and Bob Marley combined, and they have lost more than a few braincells, but they're harmless.....and they're the ones who know where all the parties are at !

Well thanks for the welcome buddy, i appreciate it.

I don't know what you mean buy "go a bit easy on the whole PLUR blah blah blah" I don't know how I implied that! All I'm saying is more ppl should check out the psy scene because it is really awesome and so is the music and not everyone may like it, but some will!!! The vibe is great and the ppl are great. Some of them are hippies, like u and others mentioned, where as some of them are not. I for one, am not, in fact I'm in the completely opposite direction, I just like to party hard so I got attracter to the scene...but then I learnt from it how to respect mother nature and other people.
Besides in Goa, most ppl are so out of touch with the spirit, they leave trash everywhere and treat newcomers like tourist etc etc
The scene elsewhere is so much better...
As for the people on this forum they just don't know better the same way I probably don't know much about their scenes. All we can do is open our eyes and see how it's done from another point of view...

You yourself seem like a great guy, and I hope I get to know you more in the coming of times
Anyways man, as I have been posting more threads about psy and I am seeing a lot more people in here that like psy than what I had thought before.

In fact, I see you are from bombay! So is my mom!
I was born and raised in Malaysia and then I moved to the states with my family a long time ago so I don't know so much about life in India, but I have been to Goa and I have been to the Northern mountains.
Psy is not the only thing in my life, but its more like a retreat from the rest of my life.

Boom!

Not at all, man - in fact I'm totally with you on what you've said above - my feelings exactly! I know Goa ain't what it used to be like in the good 'ol days, but it's still the birthplace of the whole rave/psy scene for ppl around here - and besides, it's pretty much all we've got for now!

All the guitars, and live instruments and chanting and stuff. It's like psy is so convinced that it's the serious and credible part of trance it doesn't want to actually be fun music.

So whats wrong with all the guitar and live instruments?
That just shows we all have roots, and we bring them into the psy scene when we come in, thats what makes it so unique and diverse at the same time.
Ideas from everywhere are accepted.
Instead of speaking badly about this point you should look at it as a good thing
I am surprised at you

As for the chanting same goes man, people who came from those backgrounds (more religiously oriented, india, africa etc brought the chanting ) I must say you are very unaccepting of other cultures and their traditions.

And what are you saying man it is the most fun (i'm not comparing) but in itself it is the most happening and entertaining scene.
Everybody in the scene just enjoys all the music and the creativity and the spirit! Yes the Spirit! which is what makes it so speacial from any other trendy electronic music genre...

Respect!

There's only one club in Bombay that consistently brings over good Psy DJ's. There is a decent underground scene that takes place on the outskirts of Bombay and Delhi - all outdoors and away from the cops. The last two shows I saw were Neuromotor and Broken Toy, both out in the middle of nowhere, which was kinda cool (the cops in this country are assholes!).
