Humans are omnivores, we eat both meat and vegetables, that is what a healthy diet is for us. Any other diet choice you make is a personal choice, you just have to compensate for whatever you’re missing in that diet.

...no. People are herbivores by nature.

Well if you want to get technical they're most accurately classified as faunivores (meat-eaters, basically). This is supported by the vast majority of scientific evidence:

  • All great ape diets contain animal sources of nutrients. When these great apes are fed purely vegetarian diets in captivity, they develop malnutrition.
  • Comparative physiology and anatomy supports the meat-eating physiology of the human species and refutes the concept of a "natural" vegetarian diet.
  • Historical records, including the fossil record, indicate that humans have consumed meat everywhere they have existed since the inception of the genus Homo

Suggesting that people are herbivores by nature is not only speciously oversimplified, it's also empirically false.

Well being a posting professional like me is a big responsibility. I'm expected to provide insight, entertainment, and, when necessary, a bone-crushing fist of pwnage.

Your posts don't usually meet that standard, but I did enjoy the dancing cow and I've never had a problem with you so you must be doing something right.. Besides, you obviously have good taste: everyone who's anyone agrees that my posts are the best.
