ok i'm just going to play the advocate here. while i agree with rodrico's statement, i only agree with it to a certain extent.

seriously, if a guy doesn't have a job, or a car and he's in his 20's, then i'm sorry, that pretty much tells me he is someone who doesn't have his shit together, and that's a turn off.

Agreed.

But it isn't everything - I think that's what they're getting at here.

You may be able to tell if we're losers from the get-go, but we can tell if you're a goldigger as well.

Er, most of us, that is...

If you don't have a job or a car, then, yes, you are a loser without his shit together. I don't own a car because I can walk to work or take the bus pretty much anywhere I need to, and I'm saving a shitload without paying parking/insurance/car payments. I could buy a car whenever I wanted to, I just don't need one.

Agreed, but would you rather have a guy who has family money and is wealthy or a guy that lives moderately on his own dime? That's really the question. I for one, would rather date a girl with a job that works for her money than some princess with everything handed down to her. I don't know how I would handle a woman that didn't understand the value of money.

Well, if I meet a boy I really like...he always has a girlfriend...that avoids rejection already...

I deny rejection

As for successful people, meh, success is overrated. And subjective, so you can't really measure it.

For jobs I just accept 'they don't want me, better move on'. If you're as bad as me at getting jobs then you would expect it, I've been rejected for several fast food jobs, and I won't even go into other jobs I've applied to, so rejection's what I expect (I don't mean to say I go to the interview casually because I expect it, I do still try to get the job, I just mean it's almost got to the stage that rejection is natural)

As for girls.. .well I'm too shy to even ask, I know I'm not the most desirable guy ever and I'm pretty shy and lacking esteem anyway. I know all that 'if you dont shoot...' and 'nothing to lose' stuff is true but for some reason I'm still shy Plus the above (not having a job) can't help, most guys in my year have found part time jobs and have decent money and drive a car (or will drive a car whenever they get a licence).

If it was a sales job I don't think I'd take it too badly unless it happened a LOT, meaning I was a bad salesman, but a few rejections wouldn't mean much, just part of the job. At least I'd be getting paid for it.

well, i never had an issue with rejection, and i dont mean i solved that 'problem' from the first time.
i mean i didnt have a problem with it to begin with.

the only thing i do have a bit of a problem with is getting the 'courage' you need to break the ice with a chick, it usually takes me about 2 minutes (and sometimes it can be 2 minutes too late, which sucks)

but, will that first judgement interfere with your decision about him if it turns out that he does have his shit together?

well of course i wouldn't just write a guy off after finding out he doesn't have a car. i can pretty much tell right off the bat anyway if a guy is a loser, so i just go with my instincts.

a perfect example is this guy i used to work with when i worked at a restaurant. he was like the "funny guy" who would always have everyone in tears laughing, and he was very cute too, but it was a really big turn off that he was 26, still living at his mom's, and a chronic pot smoker who spent all his money on weed and going to the bars every weekend....no college or ambition or anything. what a waste of a personality.

So how do you deal with the girl you like not liking you back?

I’ve been rejected many times in my life. I even been rejected by people who didn’t even bother to get to know me but none of it ever diminished my outlook on myself and my spirit. Never beg for anything, keep your head high and just live your life. Rejection always had adverse effect on me, it charged me up even more then ever, always knowing what I can do and can offer.

How do you cope with not getting that job?
I’ve applied for hundreds of job before I found what I want. I was denied by many companies…lol…I was denied so many times that one company called me again after a year and I STILL DIDN’T GET IT. I had times when I was so upset that I cried. I just couldn’t find a job for a year and a half. Thanks to my girl back then, she supported me every step of the way. I give her huge part of my success now.

What process occurs mentally when you approach a girl/guy in a club and they turn your advances down?
I don’t even consider that kind of rejection a rejection. Who cares if you got rejected by some club hoe…I certainly don’t.

If you have a sales job and people say NO what do you do?
When I had my sales job people said NO to me all the time. This is sales and this is what you hear a lot in this type of work. They said NO, I would say FINE and move on. For every NO I had some YES but I really didn’t want to break people’s balls so I got out of sales.
