But I've been totally addicted since 97, and edm has always been my favorite genre, and probably always will be.

The point is some people have a hard time just sitting by watching something so dilapidated, formulaic and devoid of creativity as this get so much praise, since it most likely will result in even more crap like this being churned out in order to please the masses. It drags the whole genre even further down into the mud than it already is (if it all possible).

A remix is another artists interpretation of the song. Some just do it to make a quick buck but a lot of artists just want to take a stab at a classic track, one that maybe helped them even get or stay listening or producing this type of music.

^^^ Agreed. We're talking about standards here and this remake is a typical example of a classic track is being ruined by such a piss poor job.

Ok, so it's about the fact that this is different from the stuff people (the offended) used to like, and that more and more of it is produced, and less of what you want? I guess I'm starting to grasp the whole trance 'evolving' argument. And damn am I glad I'm on the side that's capable of enjoying at least some of these changes. It would probably feel a little worse if I didn't have my progressive house or/and "McProg" to listen to, since I don't listen a lot to the ASOT kind of trance.

Does this make me a newbie when it comes to trance? I know nothing about producing, so I might not be able to appreciate the quality, or none-quality, when I hear it. I do this: listen to it, like it - it's good. Does it have to be more advanced than this? It would probably be ok to have the vocabulary and knowledge to analyze a tune down to all the smallest parts. I wonder if this would change my taste in music. If it would, and turn me into one of you 'haters', I'm thinking ignorance is bliss, newbies wins!

You enjoy it good for you, they don't enjoy it good for them.

A lot of the seriously anal people must have a hell of a time enjoying a lot of music.

It's the fact that what they liked is getting replaced with something so vastly inferior in every single aspect that pisses them off, and also that the reason this happens is cos it sells more and has more mass appeal.

I love this remix brings up the melody nicer than the orig imo

Well, on the bright side, I never bought the original and this might lead to a re-release.
