Mixer is the one place where you should not skimp out on.

So what mixer are you going to get? The 600?

In response to whoever asked if all Behringer products suck, I've been very happy with my VMX-300. The sounds quality isn't all that great, but the fact that the eqs can cut up to 32db is awesome. The bpm counters are a total waste, but hey, for $170, it's a great mixer. So, no, not all Behringer products suck.

I am happy with my DJX-700...except the efx as mentioned in this thread. The faders are ok and EQ is ok. Maybe you people just want everything perfect down to the little spot coz your all a bunch of whiney bitches when it comes to dj equipment

$200 is well worth the DJX700

Oh and for good sound quality, turn the surround sound effect up to about 3/4 and it's the same as everything else i've ever heard

im pissed off cos i was going to buy a 2 channel numark with the built in kaoss pad for about £10 more than the djx700, but the stupid little f*ck in the shop talked me into buying this!!!

fair enough its got 4 channels, but thats its only good point! for £200 you could have a mixer that is 10x better than the djx.

its efx are sh*t, its sound quality is about the worst i have ever heard ... EVER! and the faders are terrible too!

i was very surprised that it was as bad though, because i have had a go on a couple of different behringer mixers and they were pretty good. imo.

I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting all your equipment to be perfect, however, expecting perfection off of a 4-channel mixer with EFX that you payed $200 for is stupid. I'm happy to say that I was a step away from buying this mixer but went with a Numark DXM06 instead. Why didn't I buy it?? Well, it looked way to good to be true. I mean how much quality can you expect out of a mixer with so many features for such a low price?? Well, not very much it would appear.

I think the biggest issue is the fact that Behringer - a big audio company, put out a unit with so many 'features' that perform so poorly.

Why would a company in an industry were reputation is so important carbon copy the industry leader (DJM 600 - argue among yourselves) of a product and make the unit so poorly? I'll tell you why - Behringer doesn't give a crap about the bedroom DJ market. They thought 'We'll put this thing out there, get an initial bump in sales, then when people start to realize it's crap we'll stop making them' I just wonder how long the DJM 700 will continue to be built. They've already cut prices by 50% on all their DJ mixers. Can you say 'inventory liquidation'.

Its true - you can't believe that a $200 or $300 mixer will work the same as a $1000 or $1200 mixer, but when a company like Behringer puts their name on a product you expect some sort of quality.

They screwed themselves - is there one person who has read this thread that would actually buy one of these units today (or any Behringer mixer)? If so you're more stupid then me because I had no one's opinion to reference when I bought this thing.

Were my expectation of this unit unrealistic? Yes. Did I think Behringer was a solid product before I purchased this? Yes.

Take it for what's worth. I'm going to find my old Stanton SMX 201.

That's my rant for the day.

I totally agree... Maybe bump up the price a couple of hundred dollars, put in quality components, and tweak it and now you have a quality mixer.

I am still going to purchase Behringer products, just not their mixers.

ive noticed with a number of behringer's products - they are kind of like clones of existing products, not quite as good but which cost alot less. behringer have cornered a market which tbh companies like pioneer just dont deal in - the really cheap end of the scale. behringer will take the schematics of the djm600, pretty much copy it using much cheaper components, call it djx700 to get around copyright laws and sell it to people who cant even afford a 500 or even a 300.

its cool that at least somebody is trying to make DJ gear affordable cuz lets face it, alot of the 5 channelers with effects units are prohibitively expensive.
