First off I'm glad to see that most ppl on this board are sensible and realize what Oakie means to the dance scence. The fact is that most ppl don't appreciate him know simply because they expect him to play the kinda sets he did in 1999 and he has moved far beyond that.

Also FASTDJMP3 when u compare sets u can only do so with DJ's that are spinning similar styles. How can u compare JJ (who spins all kinds of cheezy shit!!!) to Oakie ??? Come on mate...I can tell that u like the uplifting stuff, but JJ is not a good example to use as a DJ better then Oakie....JJ is probably the most overrated DJ ever !!!

Finally...Juricimo u might think that Emienem is shit but the fact is that his music sells...if u don't like Rap then u probably don't know the difference between good rap and bad rap...Emienem has his own style (which many ppl don't dig) but it is by far better then most rappers. Anyway the point is not whether Emienem is good, but whether Emienem and Oakie will produce the goods...and the jury is still out on that question....


BTW. No one said that Oakie is going to work with Rappers...so what's all the hullaballo about ? Methinks that ppl just love to bash Oakie cause they don't like what he is trying to do...Change !!!

FastDJ -good to see you back too, man. I wasn't really attacking your comments, just another one of my "general Oakie defense forums" comments again... You have every right to not like him - just make sure you state it for the correct reasons....

I like Tiesto, Ferry, Gielen, Picotto, AND Oakie (and a bunch others), just so all of you know i'm not a newbie/one sided arguement here... i know whats out there and i STILL enjoy Oakie... but then again, we are all allowed to have our own opinoins.

No i have never said JJ is better , the proof is : JJ (that UK dj who plays cheese) well he has delivered a better set than all what Oakey did in these last two years , do u understand what i mean now ?

i see your point but you can't forget all the hundreds of sets that Oakie has spun that aren't downloadable - i've seen him 4 times recently, and 2 of those sets killed Qontact.... same type of music too, just killed it though. A lot of the smaller sets he does in other towns that weren't broadcast on european radio were pretty good.

I like Jules, but sometimes he throws a house record in, and i can't stand house music (for instance take Jules Gatecrasher set - good set, but whats with the 2-3 house records thrown in the middle of the trance?) But again, thats track selection, not skills...

But u are still saying that JJ has delivered a better set then Oakie which I have to disagree with. JJ is my opinion is one of the worst DJ's on the planet...his track selection is terrible and his mixing is worse then Oakie's (which is not that great anyway). I guess this debate will never be resolved so this is the last i'll say regarding this topic.

I can't believe there are ppl dissing Rap when they don't have a clue what rap is all about...I don't dig the rap that's going around these days but I used to listen to rap when it wasn't all cool and shit. Anyone remember the days when Rap was underground ? I do...now it's all commericalized, although there are still artists like Dre who deserve some recognition for what they did.

From what I've seen on this board...most ppl love Epic Trance...and the fact is that the heyday of epic trance is OVER !!!! Just cause Tiesto and Corsten spin epic trance doesn't mean shit !! The future of trance is not the lovey dovey epic stuff...that was the past ppl...look at the majority of DJ's and producers today...most are spinning progressive trace. Like it or not...epic trance is not as hot as it used to be.

First things FASTDJMP3 you are damn stupid. You seem almost as dumb as Twilogodess and that is a very hard thing to achieve.

Paul Oakenfold has done more for the electronic music industry than any other other DJ on the planet. Without him you probably wouldn't have a lot of your cheesy happy uplifting "trance" you listen to these days.

What the hell is wrong with him just talking about that he would like to collaborate with some rappers? He never even said he would do it dumbass but you go and look for a reason to put him down just because you know nothing and think he sucks because his sets weren't to your taste.

Comparing Oakenfold to a pathetic mainstream club DJ Judge Jules is a disgrace. You should be ashamed of yourself. Oakenfold is a pioneer, Judge Jules is really just a pop star.
