early last year my friend introduced me to his CDJs & told me the best way to start was 2 play the same track on both decks... I had no clue what was goin on then !!! i didnt get a chnce to spend much time on his decks after that so I bought traktor... and fooled around a lot, learnt a lot from it & then went back to 2 weeks at his place where my +/- the jog dial improved... im taking delivery of my first rig anytime soon and then I can be perfect

hmmm... here's a question... is it easier to mix faster BPMs or slower ? im under the impression faster BPMs... im mostly doing psytrance so 143 - 147 is mah range

I spent hours in my bedroom with two aincent Technics SL-D2 (or something) decks that only had a small turny nob to control pitch (-5/+5%) and a crap mixer, when i should have been doing homework; and taught myself! Even taught myself the fundementals of mixing in the right structure and everything!! Then I read the tutorial in X Fade magazing and was totally chuffed that I had taught myself the right way!

But one thing I did do was record everything i did and listen to it the next day. You hear every mistake. It works wonders!!

its easier to beatmatch faster bpm's, you hear it going out of time quicker, and thus can make the adjustmens + getit right quicker.

practice practice practice...

also what really helped me was learning from my neighbor for the first month... a few lessons early on will save you a lot of frustration.
