I think too manny people think "Techno" as they say is for druggies and that everyone that listens to it does X. They ask me if it gets boring and i say only if its by a crappy producer :P . I just hate it when people hate somting theyve never heard, it sucks bc it just makes us smaller. One thing i have noticed in music ever since ive been hooked is i cannot listen to "regular" music, like rock and rap beacouse it doesnt have a good rythm , melody and beat. Lyrics get old to me. Anyways around here where i live its either rock or rap. Nothing else, no pop or anything. Its truly sad

If you haven't found any rock with good "rhythm, melody and beat" you haven't been looking hard enough! I'm a big fan of melodic, instrumental rock and there's plenty out there to be found.

The thing is , people have no concept of trance what so ever , as a dance/electronic music overall. Hip-Hop n RnB have now taken over the charts and have become pop music..so most of people are into that..and an annoying thing is that on a supposed to be an ONLY DANCE MUSIC CHANNEL "MTV DANCE" (Sky TV), they play rnb and hip-hop as well as on 10 other channels...it is very sad,and it becomes clearer why people have no a clue what Trance music is and what Techno music is, and so on.
However, luckily, all my mates are into electronic/dance music. Some of them were into it before l met them, some of them got into it thanks to my efforts...some like Teckno and proggie stuff. Now lm working on getting my female mates into it. So far, I got them into Housy stuff,so it's getting there.

A real Trance remains an underground music, which I think is a good thing,so it would not get mixed up with pop.

A good job, that we have a few really decent local dance clubs around here where all "progressive" people gather and have a great time.

But please do not give up and don't conform to the peer pressure...it's very hard sometimes, but NOT TO WORRY we will all stick together

TRANCE is BEAUTIFUL - LET's HAVE IT ! ! ! !
BE POSITIVE & OPTIMISTIC

Surprisingly, a lot of them do now. But it's been thanks to my great efforts for them to open their minds and listen to the really good stuff, not just cheesy compilations. Alot of them now like prog and most of them like house. Trance is a more difficult task though, since to enjoy trance you pretty much have to be in a club or something like that. But when they've seen live trance shows like Tiesto or Christopher Lawrence they've really enjoyed it. So yes, we are making some progress.

I've found bringing mates usaully females he he ... over to my house and giving them the whole speel on what it's about, the different blends of trance where and why, let them listen to the tracks on a good sound set up, they end up getting a taste for it whereas before it was just rather a mix of beats and sounds.

I get the same impression. Also, nice to see someone from northern IN. I'm originally from South Bend, and will be back there for the holidays!
