Now I never said he wanted to end sanctions because of the Iraqi people (tho he did say the following in an interview on the BBC with Jeremy paxman bout the sanctions re. the Iraqi people...)

But anyway, I said Tony Blair decided the sanction regime had to end, and he did! One, the Iraqi people were suffering, and two, if this helps convince you that he wanted an alternative to sanctions, they simply weren't working (I think he went onto say that Saddam had made $3 billion he shouldn't have from oil)

we should have just left irak alone. not our problem. they caused us no problem except by invading kuwait, other than that, they were under the leash of the UN.
