i guarentee there were just as many bad tracks as today, there was just no way to hear them...
today
there are radio shows, vinyl webpages, p2p networks, trance websites...yada yada yada
and there are soo many different ways to listen and discover music
its a good thing and bad thing...
one bad thing is that it exposes more bad/mediocre music...
it also "devalues" the better tracks making them seem worse then the "classics" because of increased # of times you hear the tracks
the % of good tracks is still probably the same...
people need to go out more, and stop judging live sets!

Although I do have to say I'm extremely dissapointed with the last 2 Tiesto CDS (Just be & Olympics).... very poor compared to previous stuff...
