I think the problem now-a-days is that everyone has been listening to the top DJs for too long... without branching out into other awesome DJs/Groups... that's why everything feels like it's getting drab...

u need to try and branch out into other musicians once ur current ones start feeling shit...

that's the same way I felt as u.... but i find the not that i have stgarted to more branch out into other DJs and groups, I'm getting closer and closer to the old feeling that that trance gives.... Problem is, it involves time and research, and downloading big files ur not sure about, when u could be downloading big files from Djs u KNOW u might like. So it needs time

The current gods of trance will fall out of favour and imo the sooner the better..sick of tiesto..van dyke..burren etc the amount of people mesmorised on TA about these guys is amazing..auctually makes me sick..if these guys aint playing certain tracks..then they are considered medicore..if they play them in there sets they are accepted as greatness personified..music moves on all the time..be open to change..but dont be like the lemmings going over the hill..it is a business after all and not many businesses have the amount of cynisism surrounding record companys or their star acts..and for good reason because they are the most cynical of all..

There's more emphasis on the producers of tracks than the live DJs playing the songs than there used to be. This is due to the overwhelming amount of internet radio stations playing "the newest songs" from the top producers and the increase of broadband allowing listeners to download all the tracks they want.

It seems that if a producer puts out one or two anthems one year they are recognized for years after that as one of the leading producers in the scene but their new productions after that can be subpar but still played because of their name. Radio stations receive most of their new tracks from these producers, thus we hear multiple tracks by the same producer but they may not all be good.

This squeezes out the little guy that is trying to get his songs heard, but could help the scene tremendously. It hurts the DJs because fans will go to concerts expecting to hear those "overly hyped produced" songs, if they dont hear those songs their ticket sales go down. Other DJs will try to remove themselves from that problem by playing other genres and styles that might not be as popular at the moment, thus getting them less recognition than previous years.

thers some gems out there. you definetly have to dig to find them more than you used to have to. not a lot of quality/my record stores just not carrying anything in my genre(and there lack to fufill orders) have really made me have to think outside the box when it comes to my music, but there ineptitude has made me a better dj since it has forced me to look at records i might normally never would have looked at.2005 should be better.....
