so if the universe began at nothing something must have been there before to set it in motion. | This is true. There is no such thing as the nothing. To say there is the nothing (absense of everything, not from The Neverending Story) means to give it a form, thus to say that nothing is something, making the nothing a contradiction. Therefor, the nothing does not exist.
From this, it is likely to say that the Universe does not have limits, that it is infinite. Or, if it does have limits, there is something outside those limits that is either infinite or itself has limits, making all transendence infinite. Time is therefore infinite as well, wither infinite in itself, or a transendence from another amount of time. This concludes that both time and space is infinite.
Human knowledge, on the other hand, is not infinite. Our conscienceness is nothing special in the equation of nature. It is mereley a tool given to us to facilitate nature. When our whole species is destroyed, Time and Space will not be destroyed. Our existence is arbitrary to nature. It will go on while we'll be dead. There is no transendence for us. This idea was merely thought up by our ancestors who did not have all the facilites of science that we have today. Religeon is just an idea made up so that we can feel that our existence is not arbitrary to nature, that we are some how the most important in the Universe.
It's amazing that religeon has sustained itself for so long. Think about it. Human belief at the beginning of our time has always considered ourselves the center of everything, that we are the most important, and we make up ideologies that cater to those ideals. Why is it that we thought that Earth was the center of the Universe when religeon was created? When that concept quickly demolished, and further thought in the universe prevailed, we quickly found out that Earth is just a planet in the grand scheme of things, and certain circumstances made it possible for life to be created on earth. Our beliefs had lead us to the conclusion that we are the first, the most important, and the only infinite beings, but logical realizations has ceased these thoughts throughout history.
That's all I have to say for now...
