For sure. I do realise that techs are built like a rock, and are very good quality. But they arent quite as industructable as some people like to beleive.

I have no problems with people loving their techs, I only have a problem when people are narrow minded and dismiss any turntable that attempts to make some progress away from the 1200s design, just because it hasnt been around for decades like the 1200.

Also consider you may need power conditioners and surge filters etc. If the fuse is going constantly it could help

I've already started saving for a pair of the pdx 2300 mk2 pro's & no person can change my mind with all their "Technics is the industry standard" shite cos even though it is, the top of the range vestaxs are thee best tt out there at the moment as said by plenty of top dj's

you fool! the 250mA fuse cost me 20p from b&q. and unscrewing the plastic shield doesn't even void the warranty. gutted

i have no doubt that the reason this happened is because i am not using surge protection on that deck, but everything else seems to have managed with said (what must have been miniscule) spike fine.

technics should totally watch their backs. if they are not careful, their own laziness will be their downfall.

Also, you gotta wonder WHY the fuse is blowing. Sure it's not difficult to replace a fuse, but the fuse blowing could be a sign of a bigger problem (like when my stereo's fuse blew the amp started sparking and smoking...)

Hehe that reminds me of a time wen we used to have this real cheap 5.1 surround sound system in our lounge and one day it started making funny noises then we could see smoke comin out and their was fir inside the subwoofer/amp box, the picture of my brother running down the hall with a burning subwoofer box then throwing it out tha back door is still fresh in my mind

I have terrible wiring in my room. The ceiling fan spins at turbo speed and the lights dim and brighten randomly and my bulbs burn out quickly. If you turn the lights on or off my speakers pop. I use surge protectors on all of my electronic equipment for that reason, I don't trust the wiring not to fry my gear.

How exactly do u replace the fuse then?? i presume u have to remove the platter from the deck, how do i go about doin this?? weres the screws to do so?? n then what?? Basically what do i need to do to replace the internal fuse?

Without knowing if your decks are grounded, and the rating of the fuse, I still think my suggestion was legitimate. The micro static of the duster could have tipped the balance on an already present static buildup (caused by light reflecting from venus and ground tremmors of a specific frequency...or something).

In any case, get a surge protector you fool! I’ve had my decks on one since day one, and never had any blown fuses etc.

As a side note, I checked the instructions, and nowhere could I find anything along the lines ‘opening the bonnet will void warranty’. Could just be me not seeing it though!
