Kenny Glasgow and Sean Miller can pack the place (with a very good crowd at that). And they don't charge $50,000 for a single gig.

I'm not going to get into another genre argument. Boa's current strategy attracts a very good crowd and keeps them happy. If you want them to change for you, then take an active role in it - that's all.

As for more trance: I don't speak for Boa or its staff, but it's time to take off the rose-tinted glasses and see that trance events don't have the same potential for success as house events. I don't want to say that trance is stale or anything, but if you want to see more trance at Boa, then give them a reason to bring more trance - bring people with you! Do your part to help make those nights a success and you will see more of them. TranceAddict alone doesn't have enough active members to pack the place.
.

So how does having booze automatically make BOA more like THE GUVERNMENT and what the hell is wrong with THE GUVERNMENT anyways? GUV has been around for like 8 years now and has been ranked one of the best clubs in Canada and the world for a pretty long time now in a day and age where clubs come and go.If it wasn't for the success of clubs like THE GUVERNMENT,COMFORT ZONE and INDUSTRY who paved the way then maybe these newer clubs such as BOA,VIVA,SYSTEM,FILM,PULSE ect. wouldn't be around for us to enjoy today in my opinion.Funny how you like to forget that some of the main people involved with BOA were once at THE GUVERNMENT at one poing or another if I'm not mistaken.

As for trance I know for a fact that not all the people in Toronto who listen to trance are TranceAddicts so stop acting like the only people who like trance are

Bring Tiesto,AVB or PVD type of trance DJ's and I'm sure the place will be rammed no matter what night it is and get some good trance DJ's to do a Saturday at BOA as opposed to a Friday or Sunday and then talk about how the house market has soooo much more potential then the trance market

I for one hope trance stays on Friday or Sunday nights. The reason why I and many other people like Boa so much is because of it's dedication to House music, and the amazing House DJs they bring in.

If you want to see Tiesto, Ferry or Armin, go to the Guvernment. As maxpain said, "GUV has been around for like 8 years now and has been ranked one of the best clubs in Canada and the world for a pretty long time now". Why would you want there to be Trance in Boa when you can go to a club as good as Guvernment?

This has been a dream year for me in many ways.

Being introduced to Boa-Redux on its first night of operation (w/Sean Miller & Sander Kleinenberg on Dec.27th) is a night that changed my whole outlook as to how a party SHOULD be. With this in mind i did my best to spread the word to everyone i felt would bring the vibe to the club. Danny Tenaglia on Canada Day was the day that i think TA really got Boa's attention as our roll call was far more massive than they expected. I was then given the opportunity to officially promote for my favourite club in the city, and to this day am still giddy about the opportunity. Every weekend this club just does the right things, and attracts the best people - its really started to feel like a home away from home.

Thanks to Rony, Carey, Erica, Justin, Rob, all the promoters, bouncers, bartenders, washroom staff - EVERYONE associated with the club. I look forward to even better things in 2005, especially with me actually living in the city in spring

I don't think that a little more variety at BOA would kill anybody
Having some trance and even some drum n' bass/jungle inside BOA would be good

Thank you Boa.

Rony, Jeffy, Rob etc....class guys, that are hard to come by in the Toronto nightclub scene.

Congrats to Sly Guy (if he won)...all I know when I was there I gave it my best to get everyone fired up...nothing sucks more than a sleepy crowd.

I don't know if I won. But I did spend somewhere around 37 hours in the club on the weekend, and to be honest, it wasn't hard. With such a great party, it was utterly enjoyable, even without the aid of any essential party 'vitamins and minerals'. But I did take one extended break, I did sit down occasionally, and I did leave for 2 meals. But those all added together was somewhere around 37 hours total. I gotta say tho, Jeff deserves a lot of credit, he wasn't there as long as I was, but when he was, he was tearing shit up. And everyone out there who wouldn't let me sit down, especially when I began to wear down at the end.

Oh and as for more trance at Boa, I don't think that's quite their target market. The guv covers that pretty well, and Boa doesn't look like it's trying to become 'Toronto's next Superclub', but instead trying to cater to the underground house/progressive/breaks/techno scene. Look at their bookings and residents, Demi and Chus and Ceballos, the guys who had the two prime set times NYE, are lessor known but kick ass DJs. Let the Guv or the Docks have their Tiesto/Ferry/Armin bookings, I'm happy with who boa's bringing in.

Thanx for setting me straight .I had a slight feeling that they got a special permit but wasn't too sure

Boa opens at 1 am - it would be a waste to get a liquor license and equip the place to serve alcohol for just one hour. Not only is it a waste of money but Boa simply doesn't want to attract a bunch of boozehounds. You want to drink? Pre-drink! People do it all the time, not just for after-hours clubs, but to save a lot of money at regular clubs. Capiche?

As for more trance: I don't speak for Boa or its staff, but it's time to take off the rose-tinted glasses and see that trance events don't have the same potential for success as house events. Rony: it's we that owe you the thanks for waking up Toronto's club scene and bringing us such an amazing place to party. The sound is dynamite, the talent has been top class, but most important of all, you've kept your promises and looked after your crowd - something so often forgotten in clubland. It's Boa's attitude that makes them great.

Trance once a month is good enough even though I luv it more then House...The Blacklite Activist party had a pretty big crowd & THAT was a fun party...PLEASE have another one soon

Again...only pet peeve @ BOA is that they allow smoking in the club including the staff
