Was an awesome day, Infusion were definately the highlight, without a doubt "Australia's best live act". Awesome bass lines, dirty, exciting and funky as f*uck Crowd were loving it. The only thing i can fault them on is that for the crowd they were playing to I felt they had too many break downs which lasted a bit too long, which sorta lost the crowd for a bit, but you didnt see me complaining.
Caught a bit of Bexta, i hear you Sydney people complaining, but i think if you were to come down here and hear Melbourne's hard trance/hard nrg in the likes of Midro, you'll curl into a ball and vomit. From what i heard of her, I'd say it was more solid/banging trance rather then hard and fast, just my opinion.
Freestylers were ugly, they really need to master the art of freestyling a lot better, either that or stick to one genre and learn that. 'Push Up' had a totally different feel to it being played live, but got over it after the first minute, all in all they did my head in. As a friend quoted, Freestyling is just a cover up for their lack of talent.
Next up Carl Cox, was very suprised, was hoping to hear a tech set, but instead got house/prog house. He played Reflekt - Need to feel loved(Seb Fontaine remix??) which was awesome, he lost me when he played Mylo - Drop the pressure, but was still able to appreciate what he was doing with the crowd, I dont think I've ever seen a DJ work the crowd so well, he had total control of the masses, and they were loving it. Was he originally from Melbourne, because when he jumped on , he said "it's good to be back in my home town"
All in all was a great day, which flew bye too quickly.
