I'll be there, but in the front room for Aaron mostly - not so keen on the breaks. Probably by myself, maybe plus 3 or 4.

Hmmm, any hamilton TA's have an extra spot in their car? My ride looks iffy at best right now and I'd hate to take the bus.

Thanks.

Bio's and Pics...

Freq Nasty

Born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand, Freq Nasty acquired his love of music at an early age, mastering a wide array of musical instruments from guitar, drums and bass to the African Nose Flute. Musically astute, Freq Nasty's gravitation to the world of electronica was a natural progression from his growing involvement in the 'scene'. With his acclaimed first solo single 'Boomin Back Atcha' Freq laid down the blueprint for subsequent releases and is due for a (much anticipated) solo album.

Over the past few years the nu-school breaks movement has been gathering momentum on both sides of the Atlantic, thanks to artists such as B.L.I.M., Adam Freeland, Rennie Pilgrem, and this man FreQ Nasty. Mr Nasty -- aka Darin McFayden -- came to fame with a plethora of hard-hitting releases on Botchit & Scarper (a sub-label of drum and bass imprint Emotif) and Marine Parade. His tracks "FreQ-A-Zoid," "Boomin' Back Atcha," and "Move Back," co-produced with T Power, have been smashed by all and sundry on dance floors across the globe.

FreQ Nasty's production is instantly recognizable by its dark electro-inspired breakbeats, low slung drum and bass-lines, and corrosive synths. This boy is hot property, with labels F-111, Skint, and Cowboy Spliff breathing down his neck. "Under Glass," taken from the Cowboy Spliff nu-school breaks and electro compilation Electric Kingdom, is a prime example of his take-no-prisoners style of production.

K-Swing

K-Swing (AKA Katie Kabel) is one of the freshest new faces on the American clubbing circuit. Leading the next generation of “it” American-born DJs, Katie is making a name for herself with a style that far removed from the norm playing the hottest breakbeat tracks on the planet with fresh and exciting sounds, youthful enthusiasm, passion, charisma and a “sixth sense” for what the dance floor craves. She knows exactly how to move a crowd and keep bodies covered in sweat, begging for the next massive record.

While her DJ career is still young, she has already achieved a level of success that most DJs wait a lifetime for. In 2003, she opened up for Josh Wink, toured with Adam Freeland (arguably the world’s finest breaks DJ / producer) and played at Paul Oakenfold’s annual WMC Perfecto Party.

So far in 2004, she’s played a series of dates with Sandra Collins and opened for The Chemical Brothers. Already a fan favorite, Katie has played at some of North America’s finest clubs, including Buzz (Washington, D.C.), Centro-Fly (NYC), Club Space (Miami), Avalon (NYC and L.A.), Sonar (Baltimore), The Church (Denver), System Soundbar (Toronto), Stereo (Montreal) and Quest Club (Minneapolis.) Topping it all off, she was nominated (along with respected artists Behrouz, Gabriel & Dresden, The Scumfrog and Carl Kennedy) for the Best Breakthrough DJ Award at the 2004 Dancestar USA : American Dance Music Award Show. Katie has also been featured in the pages of top dance and lifestyle magazines including URB, DJ Mag (Adam Freeland called Katie “Best undiscovered DJ”), Teen Vogue and Loft.

The arts have always been at the center of Katie’s life. Growing up in New Jersey, she spent over 20 years of her life as a classically trained singer and dancer, and currently teaches jazz, ballet, and modern dance. As a teenager, her continuous thirst for music and motion propelled her into the dance community, where she was drawn to the sounds of break beat for its deep, funky and rhythmic bass lines. Katie found it to offer the most freedom of movement, interpretation and self-expression of all forms of dance music. With her fast-improving DJ skills and her passion for music and dance (not to mention her beauty and natural charisma), Katie started playing regularly at some of the East Coast’s (and particularly New York City’s) top nightclubs and parties. This brings us to the present, where K-Swing is no longer just a favorite in the east, but has also made some serious noise across the entire nation.

With her killer DJ sets making a major splash, and production work in the pipeline, it’s just a matter of time before K-Swing reaches the superstar level.

Here’s what they’re saying:

“For me what makes a great DJ is one that can be acutely sensitive to the environment in which they are playing and can build a set of heartfelt tracks that together magically form something greater than the sum of its parts. Katie is one of those DJs, and it’s inspiring to hear that ability in someone so young. Clearly only a girl could play with this much soul.”

— Adam Freeland, Marine Parade Records, UK

“DJs I did enjoy [at WMC]: DJ K-Swing at Spi Bar - her tough, funky breaks had my head ringin'.”

—Jim Tremayne, DJ Times, NYC

If this were a college assignment i'd include all references, since it's not and i copied and pasted from various pages i'll cite only one source - Google
