Foreign girls are great.

The best part is that when international students come to Australia they end up hanging out with other international students, often from the same country, and who really wants to go to another country to hang out with people from back home, this makes them prime candidates for a nice local guy to show them around a little, impart some local knowledge and culture, and give them an international flavour when rolling over in bed at night.

The language gap is not a problem, in fact its a major advantage if you are a social retard, and although American accents are quite the bore, and their badness increases in-line with a drawl factor, people tend to like an accent.

I never found that being an American helped get me laid in Norway. In fact, I pretended to only speak English with this one girl and it didn't work out at all. She kept asking me, in Norwegian, "why don't you speak Norwegian?" I kept playing it off, but I think I lost my chances because of it. She was from further north in Norway and didn't speak much English. I think it frustrated her. Oh well.

its a loaded situation. i know from Sweden that even the Dutch people i hung out with didnt get much of what Yanks utter. we did entertain in that we were labelled Beavis and Butthead by the second or third day.

basically just hang out and do what you can...oh and in Sweden guys fake American accents to get by - sometimes Swedish people didnt even think I was from the US due to that reason|

(not that I was trying very hard or anything)

Yeah. I've had grips of Norwegians not believe I'm an American. However, I speak the language fluently, and that probably effects things.
