I love how they write their own 'up their own arse' biography, speaking in the third person and then put it on their website.

"Many say that DJ Froggy is the next Sasha, but DJ Froggy knows that Sasha is the next DJ Froggy."

etc.....

I'd rather that than be a small-time Radagast copy.

maybe you should read his second post. he said something about these amateur djs promoting a god like image of themselves. sure they should promote themselves, but not like they are the king shit of the earth. its fine to have a website, its another thing to promote yourself as better than you actually are.

I just want to let you know guys that in approximately 3 months i will be starting my DJing career. I will buy some Stanton belt-driven decks and a mixer that comes in this box called "DJ in a box" and it all costs 300$ @ my local Wally mart. Therefore i want you guys to be on the look-out for my abilities. Also look out for my first single. DJ MTO Presents Lakeasha - If You Cared Like I Care We Woul Care The Same (Warmharbour Remix).

Thank you, and my future website will be @ www.GoMtoDJNumeroUno.com

P.M. This is not self promotion.

Hehe, I agree and yet I have exactly such a bio on my web site. Written by myself in 3rd person. The thing is, I think you would be suprised of how much the visual stuff and the image surrounding you as a DJ actually means when getting gigs.

I didn't have any 3rd person bio on my web site until I started getting gigs outside of Sweden. The promoters of those gigs actually wanted me to write one of these 3rd person bios which they then could use as some sort of marketing, hype-me-up-beyond-recognition tool. So I wrote a big pretentious piece of text, filled to the brim of inflated ego. I still keep it updated to this day. If not, you could bet your sweet ass some promoter will ask for it. Same goes for god like pictures of yourself spinning, preferably a picture of you in the Oakenfold-thinks-he's-Jesus-Christ-pose. If you don't have them, promoters will ask for them. To put on flyers or websites. When they are paying for your trip and your DJ fee they want every last penny crammed out of it which means they'll take any method available to get people to the event.

So, don't be too harsch on the bedroom DJ who is marketing himself in this way. Sometimes we are actually forced to do it
