Trust me, I know how you feel. And this is one of the reasons I like this forum; I don't feel alone in the world with my ideas of music.

- I wrote a really long continuation (word?) of the rant here about narrowmindedness (word?) and ignorance, but I don't think it was anything really new so I cut it

And watch it, your boy might be reading this!

Does it indeed. So do you think that all rock music sounds the same, twang twang?

Thats a point I could do without, why would you entertain EDM if it all sounds the same to you?

I think someone who listens to emo whinge****** music like Good Charlotte is a loser. In return a lot of people who listen to Good Charlotte think that dance music is repetitive, emotionless fake crap that only poppers listen to.

People think that the music they listen to is the best and try to 'educate' people, but in reality you make yourself look like a arrogant jerk by saying that your taste is better. Just share your music around and if they dont like it, who cares.

Everything is equal (and as is music) so just accept it. If you call someone narrow minded or arrogant because they dont like the same music as you, go get fucked. EDM fans are just as elitist as any others. I think you need to relax and let people listen to what they want.

If someone says shit about trance, tell them to fuck off. Simple as that.

I always let people listen to my music, if they dont like it, so be it. I do not try to educate them. They like what they like and sometimes I agree with them, although I observe a lack of respect. I say fuck them if they cant respect. This is not, I EMPHASISE NOT MY POINT HERE.

I want to hear similair experience. I am not preaching. WHY WOULD I PREACH EDM TO AN EDM ORIENTED WEBSITE.

Im going to bed now, but i'll check this thread the morn, I hope to read other peoples experiences, not opinions as I feel I do not express an opinion here, except to the end of respect for EDM.

Night Night and sweet trance dreams

Narrow minded?

Anyway I can usually pick out people who would appreciate trance music more then others. Giving trance cds to someone like my brother who listens to Slipknot, Metallica, Coal Chamber, would be a waste of time but I dont think that he is narrow minded because of this.

This was kinda what my deleted text was about; I'm not saying people are narrowminded and ignorant for not liking EDM or whatever, it's their whole attitude against it. I don't like jazz, but I accept and respect it as music that many enjoy and love. I don't go "OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS IS UTTER SHIT, YÒU CANT CALL THIS MUSIC, TURN IT OFF OR ILL KICK SOMEONES HEAD IN!" if I hear it. This is the attitude I'm getting from a lot of people when talking about EDM. Is it so hard to accept this kind of music? What are the rockers afraid of, some "techno"-monster coming to get them? Is there something wrong with their brains? WHAT?

But again, fuck it.

Okay, you think it would be a waste of time, but why is it a waste of time?

Is it because your brother wouldnt listen to or appreciate the cd's you have bothered to give him???????????????

Why would it be a waste of time, why wouldnt he listen to them, or would he listen to them and tell you what he thought of them, have you tried, has he listened, what does he think, thats what I want to know.....

Give me experience not supposition.

Hahah yeah that's what i'm feeling right now about this topic.. it just keeps going around in circles.

Kev: If i'm listening to it loud and he's around he'll say something like 'turn that crap off' 'how can you listen to that?? it's all fake' I say the same back.
