WOW - what a night !

All DJs have been absolutely incredible. I think musically this was my favourite nights of the past year or so.

Gamma, Dennis Hahn, Matt Hardwick, Kai Tracid and finally - the DJ of the night (IMHO) - STILEZ ! Everyone played amazing, but STILEZ just played every single track that I loved. He played the kind of trance that you never hear these days anymore, trance that made me a tranceaddict, trance that always puts a smile on my face, trance that I can dance to for hours and hours(and dance I did...)

Pulser - Cloudwalking, Yahel - Voyage, Tranquility Base - Rasorfish, the list goes on an on !! So many incredible tracks ! The one negative aspect of Stilez' set was that I pretty much missed Kai Tracid, though I did get to hear his infamous "Trance and Acid" tune, which was one of the highlights of the night. Too bad he didn't play Tiefensraush.

Matt Hardwick was amazing as well. Well, the 2nd hour of his set(first hour was too slow and "typical" for my liking). Thanks to Karen(Dancingqueen) I took some pictures with the guy(haha - probably my first picture with a celebrity, except the Sergey Brin pic of course). Matt seems like a really great guy(was a great footballer at Primership at one point too). Can't wait for him to come back(Republic - hint, hint)... Damn - just remembered that I forgot to ask him whether he ever played in Russia.. If you read this, Matt, please let me know

Lots of TA presence at this party(well, that was to be expected). And when that many TAs come together, fun times are guaranteed ! Thanks

Now for the negatives. COAT CHECK !!!! WTF was that ?? I missed Shryer's set, and a large chunk of Gamma's set while I was waiting to check in my coat. Absolutely ridiculous and unforgivable, especially given the fact that this kind of coat check fiasco happened before already, and they should've learnt from their mistake. Somebody joked that they must've hired BOA NYE coat check ppl. Seriously though, promoters seem to miss the fact that the longer we wait to check in our coats, the less booze we buy - the less profit for the promoter. Thus it would only make sense to invest a bit in the coat check, and enjoy the extra profits on booze.

And of course at the end of the night, security was being extremely anal. They make us wait all that time in coat check line, and then immediately kick us out, even though some of our friends might still be in line behind us.

Another negative was that for the first time in my life I saw somebody overdose. Let me tell you - it wasn't a pretty sight (I hope the girl is doing ok, though). Given the fact that it's been one of my first all ages parties, and also me seeing overdose for the first time - makes me wonder - are 16+ really something we need ? So many little kids there, still in highschool just getting completely fucked. Anyways...

Also, I thought the sound in main room was a bit lacking. Having heard so many great things about that sound system, I expected to hear something extraordinary, and instead I was treated to a typical soundsystem, that was also very badly configured (maybe they forgot to reconfigure it after Jungle DJs ??). The sound in Liberation Lounge was MUCH better actually.

Allright, enough rambling..

Music 10/10
Party 10/10
Organization 2/10

PS: Trancechaos - that was one hilarious "review" you posted. Haven't laughed like this in a while. Continue on with such awesome humour

Just got home now, party was amazing all around. Good crowd overall, especially compared to some similar events in years past.

Will write a real review type thingy after me + sleep.

Only issue of the night was my poor mangled back.. After Systems on Friday crashed out on what is normally a comfortable chair. Apparently sitting sideways with your feet hanging over the armrest may be comfortable at first, and even allow you to fall asleep. But be warned! it's a trap with some evil consequences like nasty tension throughout your back for a day or so.

Will write more later...

Just got home to London from TO considering left the docks at 7:15am, and its now 11:31am, missioned it back, WOW what a great night, first time being at the docks, must say I am impressed. (beats anyhting here in London thats for sure) Anyway, APHRODITE was siiiiiiiick, really what I expected and more, been wating to see this guy. Matt Hardwick spun a good set, was expecting more but good enough anyway cause he gots it going for Kai Tracid. Who just kicked my ass last night what a great set by him. Really blew me away did not expect to hear:
Hennes & Cold - Second Trip (great tune)

Good tunes playing at the TA 5 year anniversary
Over all the night was great, coat checked sucked as everyone has said. Great Vibe the whole night everyone there to party, cant wait for the next time I come down and party.

Was a really good night! Got there at about midnight. The coat check lineup was amazing compared to the Tiesto party. It was actually moving, and the job was getting done. Got the coats checked in about 15 mins.

This was definitely a rave! Lots of young ones, but everyone seemed to be in a good mood. No thugs, no negative vibes. It was all good. I am not a big fan of jungle anymore, which is what was playing in the main room until 2:30am. Although, I must admit, Aphrodite was really good. I wasn't too please with the MC's... But then again, when I was into jungle, we had Stevie Hyper D... Because of those times, my expectations are probably way too high

OS/2 played some old school shit in the other room. Really good set.

The liberation lounge was the place to be. Happy birthday TA! Good to meet everyone there. It was another good time under the belt. The DJ's were on point, and making me move. Had a few shots of tequila... Mmmm... Tequila Then, abruptly, my friend Alex and his girlfriend were not feeling well, and I had to leave. It was about 2:30 am...

I was kinda upset that I missed Kai Tracid, because I was really looking forward to hearing his set. But when your friends get sick, taking care of them is priority #1.

Night got cut short, but still a wicked jam.

alright! i'm awake now (i have no idea how, but i am lol)

got to the club about 12:30. we were going to leave our coats in the car because of rumours of bad coat check (that turned out being very true) but we ended up getting stuck parking in a side lot pretty far from the club (why wasn't the lot beside the docks open??? ) so had to do coat check and suffered. we just kept our jackets on til about 130 til it slightly calmed down (not really).

after walking through the main room among entering, i felt like i needed my mommy, that music scares the shit out of me lol. damn, jungle/dnb just aint my thing. i guess it was scott stubbs and os/2 i ended up catching in the side room, they were pretty enjoyable for the most part, some nice tunes (sometimes on the cheese side, but thats cool...i was in that sorta mood for some reason).

i was shocked to see how busy it was, but this being the first destiny event, didn't know what to expect. luckily though, there was always good dancing space i found which was really cool. and the air conditioning was nice. one of the best i've experienced in a TO club so far.

MATT HARDWICK - damn, i'm so happy i went because of this man...very cool stuff, loved every minute of it...i totally agree with earlier comments that his set got better as it went on. i loved hearing:

hydra - affinity (some mix?)
kyau vs. albert - made of sun (hard dub)

very very cool. some ids??? does anyone know the song after made of sun??? that was cool to...and what was his last song that said "dark side of the moon" i know i've heard that b4, but forget where.

KAI TRACID - pretty cool stuff...i enjoyed his set for the first part, but about 40mins in he played some breaks mix...so boo to that. i stayed for about 4 songs after, but wasn't overly impressed, so headed for coat check since i knew it would be hell and better go now then leaving when the club closes.

after getting out of coat check it was prolly like 6:15. (got in coat check at like 5:30 ) fuckin annoying...after dancing on your feet all nite long, standing for 45mins in one spot (listen to dnb ) sucks. it kept killing me thinking the possibilty of kai playing too many times when i was in that fuckin line...doesn't look like he played it though.

OVERALL - Good times, Good Music, Good Dancing Space, very mixed crowd (why do 16 year olds think the rave scene is still cool and dress like lollypop ravers???) ohwell, luckily didnt' bother me to much with the all ages since i vowed to never go to one again after turning 19 3 years ago...why were there so many backpacks??? what gives? i never see so many backpacks at clubs ever. only bad thing was coat check, and the lack of time being able to spend in the tranceaddict room. dennis hahn was awesome for like the 10mins i actually heard him ...i wish i heard stilez now after hearing the tracks that were dropped.

Next party for me is Scott Bond....

Sounds like a killer night, wish I could have been there to be with you guys!

That coat check thing sounds rediculous, at Tiesto me and my friends ended up stashing our coats behind the curtains, and my roomate had his stolen.
You'd think they would learn.
