My work desktop is connected via 100Mbps link to a Cisco Catalyst switch which backhauls into the core network via a GigE trunk. The core network is MPLS based and comprised of many OC-192/STM-64 interfaces utilizing Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology.

At home it's cable @ 5Mbps/1Mbps.

Okay fine. My laptop I bring to work IS mine, and I plug into the corporate LAN @ 100Mbps and watch those .torrents fly! Ontop of that, no monthly bandwidth caps.

Oh, and I sometimes leave my laptop @ work over night so I can ssh/vnc to it and have everything downloaded and ready for me the following day...
