that's because most people are ignorant and don't give the history of ANYTHING a second thought.

True, basketball is a big sport in some countries, but so is hockey and I honestly don't think hockey is a truly global sport. In those countries you mentioned, proper football easily takes the crown.

well yeah football kicks ass anywhere in europe or south american countries ... but basketball is becoming more and more of a played sport ... like i said before it wont take over the football but its going to stay 2nd sport in a lot of countries ..i don't know about hockey i am not sure if a lot of european countries play it .. maybe russia, and the more colder ones ... doubt anybody in australia, asian or south america plays it ... lets not mentoin africa
