False, the closest star(alpha centauri or "the dog star") is 2.4 light years away, look it up.

One more thing...Why does everyone have to associate someone who provokes a perplexing thought and actually uses their head for once as someone who potentially uses drugs?? It seriously is starting to drive me berzerk.

PIcking up on your first theory.....

It would be impossible to see into the past, unless you could travel faster than the speed of light, which is, of course impossible, as this is 'natures speed limit'.

Sorry to spoil the moment, but was an interesting read and I had to think about it a couple of times.

that ones pretty cool

when our ears hear a sound they are actually detecting changes in air pressure.

no air in space. no sound.

mind you, it depends what you define as "is"

there really was no yesterday. its only in our minds that yesterday exists. we have made up this concept of time for our practical use in our daily lives. u sleep at night, u are awake during the day. u hunt in the day, u return to camp at night. u have a meeting at noon, you go home at 5 o'clock.

nature does not have time. humans do. we are able to measure our idea on time by the rotation of earth. if everything in the universe were stationary. there would be no time. time is nothing more than a measurement of movement.

i know a lot about that theory. very interesting. the idea that all matter in the universe is made up of strings of energy that have no mass, "Anti-Matter".

but really, when i was talking about dimensions, is there really a 4th dimension? i really meant, does time really exist? which time is 4th dimension, which is why my question of time went right after that statement. as of yet, string theory is far far from being proven. so, im trying to stay in the rhelm of what we know now, and not of what we will know in the future.

Yes.

But that doesn't mean everyone else isn't either.

As ::TranceVanDyk:: said, there is no time, there is only movement. We gauge things that we observe moving - we (somewhat arbitrarily) place a standardized scale on this movement we observe in accordance to the periodic vibration of a Cesium atom. That's it.

As such, don't deify time, because it is a construct of man. It's awfully bold to say something just doesn't exist, completely disregarding the credence that thought gives it (see Plato on this one), but just realize that time was not here before man was, and it will not exist afterwards.

Maybe.
