WOW! You all (or most) are missing the damn point! DJing in the future will not be anymore about decks or vinyl or cds...stop being so fucking melancolic! The ART of djing has ALWAYS been about the music! I don't care how it's mixed...I only care about the music that the DJ's playing!

armin said that he will probably start using alberton someday... he hasnt done it yet but i think it would be really cool to see how it could work with trance.

and wtf is worng with some ppl... what difference does it make if theres a vinyl playing or a 10 wavs together making something new and unique on the fucking fly... 5 years ago we could only dream about these kind of parties and this kind of dj sets. theres gonna be a revolution with alberton and every big dj will start using it. ofcourse as others said the new djs cant use it cuz they got no samples and its expencive.. but if mp3 stores start to sell tracks in pieces then even the bedroom djs can use alberton (we ve all seen 10.000$$$ setups in the setup pics thread) so money isnt a big problem. just wait a few years. dance music history is changing ppl!!! maybe we ll be a part of this change too.

Theres more to going to SEE a DJ live than just hearing the music. I mean, if all I cared about at a show was how the music sounded, well hell, I could just play the set back on my stereo and save the 40 bucks.

This doesnt mean I dont value the music, it just means that I also value the performance bit, too.

seeing sasha using ableton is like seeing a musical band. He is playing live, making the music (adding elements, samples, musical layers) to the tracks and then mixing to the next. Hes more of a performer now than just being a DJ. Like he said its a blend between playing live and deejaying. Just imagine how crazy his sets can be. He'll have you dancing your ass off all night, and if thats not the reason why you go to a club, then i got no idea. And besides its not the same playing a set at home than going to a club. You'll probaby never hear the set he played at a club ever, but you can always open winamp and play sets.

But I think your not understanding the fact that even though he doesnt have to beatmatch and theres no decks involved...he still does alot with the new system to pump out a good set. Hes baisically takin it to a whole new level...where he can blend parts of tracks with each other in real time and create some very unique mixes and sets...I'll be seeing him with ableton on March 19th in person...so I'll have more to say after that. But from what I've heard and read its really something completely different.
