you should understand that producing trance nowadays isn't about knowing how to play your keyboard, but how to program your synths. In fact the only real utility of keyboard-playing is when you do some live performances, which you obviously won't be doing for a few years since you don't know how to program your gear.
It's simple, if you want to produce trance, go back and learn what your synth can do. Then learn how to do it.

Well, if you heard some of the stuff I was doing in the mid 90's, you'd be laughing even harder. The frequency balance on almost all my stuff was WAY out of whack in order to get the kicks to stand out properly. Some of the synth material wasn't too bad, but it mostly sounded like a bunch of loops repeating all the time. Doing things with a hardware mixer, outboard FX boxes, and analogue synths that weren't multitimbral was really limiting for what sorts of things I wanted to create...

well my laughter was more from the innuendo. i seem to be only one immature enough to pick it up.

btw, any progress on that remix?
