What's the first thing that drips into my ears when the alarm goes off?
- "Snow falling....JetsGo going bankrupt..."
- DAMN!!!
- OMG! Do I have a ticket?????
- Loose an hour of sleep tossing and turning
- Check my email at home; nothing. CRAP!
- Wife calls from her work.....finds confirmation...yea, we're TANGO!!!

Never in my life have I been more happy to fly TANGO...

and yea, I've always complained about how much it is to fly even in our own damn country.
Hell if I wanted to pay that much, I better arrive somewhere where theres tiny umbrellas in my drink and white sands between my toes...

Credit Card company's records will show the date you purchased the tickets. The airline is only bankrupt as of today, therefore anything purchased before that is your problem.

Plus, just like any other credit card purchase, if you are looking for a refund - its your responsibility to get the merchant to credit your account.

Another point - I dont know how it works with Corporate Bankruptcies, but with personal bankruptcies the Trustee takes care of most of your debts (minus OSAP, personal loans, etc.). Wouldn't purchased tickets be a debt to the airline which the trustee would refund?

Corporate bankruptcies pay like this:

How Are Assets Divided in Bankruptcy?

Secured Creditors - often a bank, is paid first.

Unsecured Creditors - such as banks, suppliers, and bondholders, have the next claim.

Stockholders - owners of the company, have the last claim on assets and may not receive anything if the Secured and Unsecured Creditors' claims are not fully repaid.

Unfortunately customers are not included in the process.

lol ok, thats not true , since i work for a credit card company , we have recevied numerous calls on corporate TSC as well for canada, with jetsgo, we credit customers accounts.

if you purchased it online depending on amts and criteria, they can write it off for you. ah well who cares, not my headache since i am not flying

If you purchase a ticket with a credit card, you aren't the one that is "lending" the airline money prior to your actual travel, and therefore they have no debt to you.

You've borrowed the money from your bank, and the bank has forwarded the money to the Company.

The reason all these credit card companies are reversing charges on people's accounts is that they'll look after their own customers, and they'll collectively go after JetsGo themselves in bankruptcy proceedings to help recover some of the money that they've given the company on behalf of their customers.
