what a great 4 games there .. (well not illinois-wisconsin-milwaukee, since that was a gimmee for the illini ) ..

but arizona-osu was a very goot matchup .. arizona should have won that game by a lot (come on .. they were shooting above 65% the whole game .. ), but osu fought back, and lost by 1. the illinois-arizona match should be a historical classic in the making ..

im rooting for louisville. i like what pitino has done with that program. i dont really like garcia because i think he cries about every call but the fact remains that he can play with the best of them. i really want to see them matchup against the illini if they both make it to the final four. right now i have it as illinois, louisville, unc, and duke (yea no shockers in there).

same will go for t.dean from louisville .. d.williams from illinois .. m.pittsnogle from west virginia.. c.frye from arizona .. big props for them .. really raising their nba draft stock value in the future ..

especially dean .. if he made that GW shot at the end of the 4th, everyone would be jumping on top of him like some kind of group orgy .. .. never mind .. but he really raised his stock value .. probably from a early 2nd rounder to mid 1st rounder at best .. he showed some grit out there with his injury ..

Seriously, this season for Illinois has been magical through and through. Last night was something akin to divine intervention. I love it.

Louisville is tough, but O'Bannon will be key. We saw last night what Illinois' guards can do defensively (Stoudamire only 2-13 from the field). Garcia and Dean will likely face the same shutdown defense next weekend (and who said Dean will go in the first round? There's no way in the world...). O'Bannon will have to play huge to compensate for the lack of production from the guards. Channing Frye almost played big enough last night... but the Illini are gritty, gutsy survivors.

The only three Final Four teams so far... I called all of em.

little late but sad west virginia is done, one of the most impressive shooting performances ever seen. I can't believe 2 D-OT games and another OT game in the elite 8. As crazy as the brackets have been this year two of the favorites to win it all picked by most are still hanging around, NC and Illinois.
