what "in and out" policy?? thr was no policy in effect xept to make ppl standing in line wait forever while girls cd get in for whtever bribes they cd muster...yes we were told arnd 12:30 tht they r at full capacity n wd b continuing on an 'one out one in policy' but tht never happened. like i said earlier, i along with 20 other ppl were in line for a full hour n we saw tons of ppl leave...almost twice as much as us...n yet they wdnt let us in...moreso...when me n my frnd reached the front of the line arnd 1:50-2, i saw a group of 5 ppl leave n i asked the bouncer if we cd go in now..since we're only 2....but nop...we waited another 10-15 mins while abt another 10 ppl left n more girls walked rt in.
and when we did get in...firstly the coat check was a bit messed up...ppl leaving n getting in were at the same place..i asked one of the attendants n he said the lineup is the same for both i thot they had two doors..one for entrance n exit each!! also, the main room was really half empty...no joke or exageration here...half empty n yet they kept ppl waiting outside...i for one cant comprehend this.
it doesnt really matter wht sound or visual quality ur getting inside (which by the way was really impressive) when ur getting rattled outside...really puts a damper 4 the rest of the night...ive got nothing against waiting in line...as with a new club n massive promotion its expected to attract a large crowd...but its gotta b fair n impartial.
peace
can I buy a vowel?

i honestly think that a lot of the bad vibes in this thread are just aresult of not being able to get in due to the sheer capacity of people. Had everyone here gotten in we'd be talking about the club and the politeness of the staff. Incidently this is stressed as a major importance at the club. And the owners follow the same rule. They have complete respect and consideration for every single employee which is not something that can always be said in clubland.

Went there after work with my sister around 4am got in no problem,(They really take care of the industry people there ).
the place looked awesome imo, wasnt busy but I didnt care at all, went up to the Vip section chilled with Mirza, there was alot of bouncers there from everywhere Metro,Viva etc last night .This place is a great place to party after work I cant wait to party there again.Went to dance floor for abit and saw Natalie(Tatgirl) was with her for abit,it was nice seeing you Nat. So we ended up stayed there till like 5:20 and at that time there was hardly anyone there so the music went off and night was done. I honestly hope everything works out for these guys, they have a good crew working there and it really is a amazing looking place and I just hope it doesnt turn into a typical top 40 crap.Best of lucks to you guys and will be there for J00F and Johan
Been to busy to go yet although I am sure I will get there eventually
For all the people knocking the place , please just remember it takes a couple of weeks for any club to iron out the bugs and settle down to a routine , that goes for everything , from lighting to sound to dj's , barstaff to how to organise the frontdoor and guestlist.
I talk from experience ,over the years i have been involved in the opening of hundreds of clubs (for many years before I came to Canada my job was simply to get a club through its opening 2 weeks)
So props to Walter Jesse jayx1 justin and all the Republik crew
the club looks great and I look forward to making it there soon

Will the club be offering other music genres in the smaller rooms when there is an electronic music event being held in the main room? I see that there is talk of RnB and HipHop in one of the rooms but from the promotions I have seen for the club I couldn't tell if they were going to theme the nights to a specific genre or theme the rooms on the same night.

dude...u cant just put it down to 'disappointment over not being able to get in'...thr r def some issues tht need to be ironed out...n i hope they will b over the course of the next few weeks...coz the clubs got massive potential...n yes the staff is cordial n frndly...n im not trying to sound like a broken record but being rattled out in the cold really puts a snag on things.
cheers

Republik is a great venue.
I wasn't there on Saturday to determine line policy, etc - but I was there on Thursday and I can say that the staff are friendly, the lights are fantastic and the sound is great.
I know for a fact that with a "TA Guestlist" at trance events (which the opening night was not billed as) we will all have an amazing time.
I recommend that EVERYBODY come to the April events.

I'm not saying that a TA guestlist existed for opening night, however I suspect that there will be one (as there are others posted on TA for every other event on TA).
