That's exactly why these guys have made a name for themselves, they've all fashioned their own particular niche that nobody else can quite match. You could say that all of the following are "progressive house" and get away with it:

Sander
Sasha
Digweed
Fanciulli (though, a bit more on the tech tip)
Howells
Ali / Sharam
etc...

They all play completely different styles, and all might be considered as "progressive house." The term itself, however, is rather loosely based, and doesn't truly define a particular genre or song. Danny Howells plays everything from deep house to banging techno, but since his style is so forward and unique, he's simply classified as "progressive"

Don't stick to particular musical genres to find the songs that suit your taste, though. Listen to what you like to listen to and don't let labels restrict your choices.

i gotta admit i was rather late to catch on to sander. first time hearing him was wmc 2004 when he rocked the terrace. since then, my interest in trance has dwindled down to near-zero. hes my number one dj atm by far.

Sander's EM in 2001 was the first one after I got broadband internet, so it was the first EM I downloaded where I had no idea who the guy was. He completely thrashed me with that set and I haven't looked back to trance since.

My Path to dark dirty beats:
Sander EM 2001, and a Timo Maas live performance--->Digweed GU19--->Satoshi Tomiie-Love in Traffic--->Deep Dish live performance.

Within 10 months I was a full out convert. And yes, Sander at Stereo was unreal, I don't know why the club didn't sign him to a second year's worth of residency, [maybe he doesn't quite fit the 'style' of the club?], but I consider myself extremely lucky to have caught him at such an amazing venue.

DA, go see sander, you might inadvertantly become a house head like every second TOTA

Been there, done that too.

NYE 2004...There's just something about leaving a club at 3 in the afternoon that just seems unhealthy.

It was only him in 2004, with brad copeland opening from 4~6am, Morales was on for something like 16 hours. He plays that club every NYE, he calls it his 'home'.

I saw him this NYE as well, but at Boa instead, he doubled up that night with an 8 hour set in Toronto, followed up by another extended set at Stereo.

Yeah Stereo is a hardcore club. The custom built analog system was specifically designed for that room and has probably the 'warmest' bass in the world. The floor actually has it's own suspension system to be easier on the joints, allowing for people to dance longer. The crowd is always crazy, and since everyone's on speed, the parties go till ungodly hours...The only drawback to that club for me is that I'm not gay and I feel like an outsider there.

ya we didnt know we had gone to a gay party untill i started to get full becuase we went in right when it had oepned the doors that day... but yes.. i think its rediculous how u can buy a 3 day pass... go in and out 3 days and they close for only like 4 hours to clean up.....

no alcohol sales too and it gets full.. everyone out there is fucke don who knows wut..
