No. But the link rob just posted explains that you can simulate low frequencies by creating Binaural beats, by doing something like this:

400 Hz in the left ear
405 Hz in the right ear

^ the brain will then "hear" the difference, 5 Hz.

does anybody know how we can test this method without buying a pre-made CD??

Fuck, I just downloaded a 70mb file called "Hemi-Sync - Hypnosis - Pink Noise & Binaural Beats -Theta - Superlearning.mp3". What a fucking waste of bandwidth, seeing as it's the same noise looped for 70 minutes. I'll try and find the loop points and upload a loopable sample to save anyone the bother.

Anyway this is what I hear: pinknoise over some tone. By muting the left and right channels respectivly, I find the left channels tone to be slighty lower then the tone in the right channel. Now, after 1 or 2 minutes of CONCENTRATED listening, there appears to be a tone that pulses at around 3hz(3cycles per second = 180 times per minute). Maybe it pulses a bit quicker, but that's just a rough guess. If I mute the right channel, I can't hear the pulsing anymore(Same goes if I mute the left channel).

Booster: In this case, we're not talking about the frequencies that sound occur here (we can't hear anything below 20hz anyway), but rather the amount of times a sound occurs per second. Ie. 0.5hz refers to a sound occuring 0.5 times per second. We're not "simulating" or creating a sound that has it's fundamental frequency at 0.5hz/1hz/12hz etc, but modulating/panning/phasing a sound(Say at 400hz) at a rate of 3hz (3 cycles per second or 180 times per minute).

Yep, just did it in Cooledit Pro.

Step 1: Create a tone(I used the CEP tone generator)with a fundemental frequency of 410hz

Step 2: Repeat but create a tone of 415hz.
Step 3: Pan 1 full left, and the other full right.
Step 4: Once played together, you can hear a distinctive "pulsing" sound that oscillates at a rate of 5hz.

Personal notes: Your speakers have to be placed quiet far apart. You have to be PERFECTLY center. If you move to the left, you can't hear the pulsing sound.

yea, but from that promo text it sounded like the CD offers sounds on the frequency of 0.5 Hz for example which sounded quite strange to me...

well it might just be my bad english so excuse me

I didn't read that site, but metioned the "pulsing" effect before I even knew what it was

quote:
For example, if a frequency of 100 Hz is presented to the left ear, and a frequency of 105 Hz is presented to the right ear, the brain "hears" a third frequency pulsing at 5 Hz, the exact difference between the two frequencies.

Now I'm stuck.

quote:

Our Awakened Minds CDs don't use just one binaural frequency. Instead, we harmonically layer our binaural frequencies to create actual patterns, not just single frequencies. Our binaural frequencies are combined in a way that replicates your brain's natural way of functioning, with frequencies that interact with your own brainwaves to evoke the most powerful response on all levels for a dramatically improved listening experience.

How would you layer multiple binaural frequencies?

Say you wanted two binaural frequencies: 1hz & 15hz.

Would you go:
Left channel: 400hz
Right channel: 401hz
=binarual pulse of 1hz

then:

left channel: 800hz
right channel: 815hz
=binaural pulse of 15hz

If you are too lazy playing with sinus generators, you could use BrainWave Generator
Supports multilayering of binaural frequencies.

There is another interesting way using phase cancellation in CED.
File->New, select 44100, stereo, 16bit so stereo wave is created, then
in tone generator dialog box set Phasing to:
Start phase: 0
Phase difference: 180
Change Rate: 7Hz (or any desired brain freq)

P.S. Use any (cheap) stereo headphones capable of producing fundamental frequency (like 410Hz) instead of speakers.

Wow. These so called 'brainwaves' have at least some effect.
Try this:
1. Listen to a tune
2. Listen to the brainwaves sample
3. Listen to the tune again

I could hear a difference, though it is impossible to explain.
btw: I used a pair of headphones.

You wouldn't hear anything between 1 and 30 hz, you'd feel the ground beneath you trembling
