Personally, I don't understand this anxiety for trance to change. I like the same old stuff. That's what makes it so loveable. I mean sure, it's nice to have variation, but not a complete change. |
This is where opinions clash.
If you look at trance today it's already changed from "200x anthem times", to name a couple of examples: Gouryella - Gouryella, Airscape - l'Esperanza, and many tunes like these.
The tunes produced today don't sound like that anymore.
And if they were people would frown and bash.
Now what happens if a DJ today plays such a tune, once it would probably receive a standing ovation, but set of these would probably end in trashing the DJ booth
Anyway to continue on tunes today, they are more subtle and more progressive, atleast the ones that are suppose to be trance anthems, and what happens is that most people don't like them, so they keep saying this is just another recylcing of old hits, so they tend to stray away and listen to some other types that you could hardly call trance anymore. Trance set of today consists of many styles blended into one, and in there you'll find some anthems, but not as it used to be. I would just love it if people could either accept the trance the way it is now or bugger off. Or we should form a tranceaddictclassics.com where the trance of yesterday will be discussed about, because as much as they hate it, there are people that like today's trance, yours truly being one of them.
