You may consider my post disrespect, but I think all this fake love for JP2 is disrespect. If they were to be respectful, they woulda cared when he was alive.

do you assume that they didn't when he was ? who is giving him fake love? Prince Reiner of Monaco died just recently, i have absolutely no connection to him whatsoever, nonethless out of respect i wish him peace, is that considered fake love? a lot of people never even knew Cinar Onat when he passed away here, yet they still feel inclined to pay their respects, what a shame to see all that fake love ..

To SOME extent, the worlds cares and concerns for JP2 are valid (mainly devout catholics), and they made him a cultural icon from the bottom up, HOWEVER, a huge portion of the people that care right now (your neighbours, your friends, etc.) had their feelings completely influenced by the media. These are the same people who would skip over a POPE story if reading the news paper back when he was alive and well, but in his death, they all of a sudden care.

i personally don't know a whole lot of people who aren't Catholic that are going out of their way about all this just because they suddenly 'care' that JP2 has now died. where do you come up with these generalizations ?
atleast he's been laid to rest, so now you can expect a lot less of this tiresome media attention about him as you seem to see it .. the Pope was hoping to make the world a better place, whether that be through life or death.
RIP JP2
