Rio is not world class, he makes too many mistakes. Just because he is good in a shit united side means nothing.
Gerrard is the most-over hyped player in the world. EVerytime alonso has started for liverpool he has shown gerrard up. Alonso is a far better defensive midfielder.
His leadership qualities are terrible. What kind of leader keeps threatening to leave their club? Carragher should be captain, now theres someone who is a leader. |
That's your opinion, which you're entitled to. There's no right or wrong answer when it comes to picking a team. It's not just individual talent, but also how well they fit into the managers tactics.
The fact that the top managers in the world want Rio and Gerrard in their squad says a little bit about how highly they are regarded. Now maybe you know something they don't...and maybe your assesment of these players is better then people who've eat, live and breath football. I somehow doubt it though, so with all due respect, i'm going to maintain my position that Rio, Gerrard and Neville are world class footballers.

PS. Note: "World Class" doesn't mean a player is the absolute best in his position. The term is used liberally to describe many players who can play at the highest level of the game.
Considering Gerrard,Rio and Neville are first team internationals and have represented their country at all major compitions -- they by definition are WORLD CLASS.
