Low cost + uber-warrany = pick Hyundai or Mitsubishi
---------------
My next car (after my focus SVT) will hopefully be another SVT, but hopefully little more family-esque (4-door, non-compact). Of course this depends on Ford's next SVT line-up (they have a new head of SVT who has ensured me that there will be new and exciting releases within the next 12 to 18 months). I admit, I'm an SVT convert for life.
If Ford doesn't get their SVT line in gear, then the plan is for a Volvo V50 T5-AWD (Auto). I just found out that the average life of a Volvo is 18 years! I don't plan to own any car that long, but at least the option exists...
Take heed to what RobbyG says - buy used. Try to get an off- 24 month-lease vehicle - generally they are well maintained and have a good 4 to 5 years of life in them. Unless I get an SVT - I will not buy new again.
