do you guys know that i like watching lesbians ?

and in my opinion this thread is a bit stupid There is no "Yea it's cheating" or "No it's not cheating". it's all a question of quantity.

I dont think it's cheating either.
It depends on how you use them though.
If drumloops replace all other arrangements (esp. Open Hihat, Closed HiHat, Ride, Shaker, Crash, Rev. Cymbal and other kinds of percussion) it kinda is cheating.
However most people (including myself) use Drumloops to bring in some more drive to the overall atmosphere (not making em too loud, just bringing them in decently into the background).

EXACTLY! And you're not forced to use the drumloops as they are... you can modify them as you want! Loops are only sampleswhich has been beatmatched.
Try to modify some loops with the Dr. Rex in Reason and you'll see what you're able to do.

A Drum part can't be full and FAT without beeing filled with some special sounds and atmosphere you can find nowhere else except in a loop.

But you can create some loops (hihats, toms, etc...) sample them and then use it. Using loops don't mean to use loops from other people.

yeah you can do great FX with loops...like sending them thru a step-sequencer-driven Filter mixed with Delay and Bitcrusher or whatever...so many possibilities

I think people that tell using loops is "no creativity" haven't creativity by themselve.

imo loops are only cheating when you are using them so that you dont have to construct percussion lines. honestly percussion is one of my weak points but i have no desire to use loops for the fact that i think its better to work at something untill it sounds good even if it means 2 years of shit percussion then so be it. but i like the idea that everything within a track is what i did even if it sounds like complete shit. becuase then its my complete shit and not my complete shit helped out by (insert favorite loop cd manfacture here) ya know what i mean. just my 2 cents tho.

Well it's not cheating but it's kinda stupid at most times. I mean most of us here just produce to have fun but mostly to LEARN and become better and you definitely wont get better at programming drums if you just use premade loops.
