Woah. Since when did people HERE, of all places, begin to use kickass-sounding, awesome-for-trance, not-made-for-djs, completely-just-for-listening-in-a-quiet-environment headphones like the SR-80's?

Yes, they are pretty good, but one doesn't buy a set of headphones just because they are supposedly 'good'. One buys a set of headphones for their specific needs. Here, we can assume, "you'll be using them for DJing", but, there's more to it, you know? Is it gonna be live? Do you need incredibly exaggerated midbass? Do you ever plan to use them for other sorts of mixing? What types of DJ-features do you need? Is it okay if the earpieces only flip up, or do you need them to bend in other strange ways, for comfort? Do you need them to bend or fold at all? How much outside noise do you need them to block out? What is your price range? Can you buy online? Do you want them to go over your ears or around them? Will you be using htem for normal music listening? Will you be plugging them into a headphone jack with some decent power?
Questions like that.

Okay...
how about I give you some overkill here, and ask you to read, or at least skim, these three articles?
http://headwize.com/articles/hguide_art.htm
http://headwize.com/articles/judging_art.htm
http://headwize.com/articles/mixing_art.htm
Alright? If you DONT want to read that stuff, fine...I'll try to explain the earpiece deal some more.
Okay, you are aware that many headphones fold to make them more compact and easy to transport, correct?
Many DJ headphones also fold or pivot in many useful ways, usually for one-eared monitoring. The earcups, the whole enclosure mechanism, often pivots. Sometimes, it pivots on the Y axis (front to back), which is useful for DJing because you can just turn your headphone for one eared monitoring, or rest it on your shoulder and only listen to it when you need to. Others pivot over the X axis, up and down, which should still work for one eared monitoring.
The headphones that I tend to recommend here, the Sony MDR-V6's, only pivot on the X axis, up and down... I meant to ask, is that a problem?
Also, as for the earpads themselves, it seems you want CICUMAURAL, or 'around the ears' earpads. The V6's stock earpads are supraural ('on the ears'), and, unless you replace them with a different model of earpads (HIGHLY SUGGESTED), they will remain that way
