Mothers and Fathers are on total opposite sides of the parental spectrum. I can't find too many similarities in my mom and dad, makes me wonder sometimes how they have remained together for over 20 years!!!!

I still live with my parents and Im 21, my mom does my laundry and stuff... than again I dont live by myself.

As for socializing, hardly at all, if anything I prefer that my parents dont talk to me at all for the most part. Most of what gets uttered out of their mouth has nothing to do with me or its some pessimistic/negative remark and I personally dont care to hear it.

I kiss my best friends mom when I see her, but I dont kiss my own.

Thanks! It has never been hard on me though. You can't really ponder and sulk on something that was never there.

i'm not a dude, but i am extremely affectionate with both of my parents. i jump on my dad and kiss his cheeks to death whenever i see him and my mom and i kiss and hug every time we see each other too, which is like at least every other day (she lives 5 minutes away). verbally too... we say, "i love you" on the phone when we hang up every time. i think that's so important.

i've had boyfriends who don't even say "i love you" to their parents...i get mortified by that. i just do not understand it. my family is so loving and affectionate.

I can't remember the last time, if ever, that I told my parents that I love them, or that they've said it to me. We both know it, so it's not like we need to say it every time to reaffirm it. There is no affection between myself and my mother. Once in a while, it'll be a hug, at home, but that's it. It's just our family dynamic.

That a man loves his mother is pretty much a requirement for me to date someone lol.. I think it shapes his attitudes towards women and shows that he's a caring person... I can't stand people who unjustly hate their parents and are ungrateful...

i guess guys are different, but i'm with miss bliss. unless u had horrible abusive parents, i am turned off by a guy who has a shitty attitude towards his parents...more specifically his mom.

i'm not saying my family is right to be like we are...actually, my parents gave me way too much attention and love when i was a baby/kid, so i'm sure that's the reason for my constant need for affection and attention from my partners. but i give it back just as much as i expect it, so i should probably be with a guy who is very loving and kinda needy in that respect too so we can just smother the crap out of each other.
