LOL at the responses, keep them coming
The sound was no where near the level of quality the rest of the club was. The bass was at best muffled. It had no punch what so ever, of course this would be expected when each bin consisted of one 15" woofer. Dont get me wrong, in comparison to most clubs it was good, just not at the same level as the rest of the Republik. Compared to Stereo, The Docks or Boa, the system at Republik is sub-par.
As for the z103 comment by whom ever, you make me laugh! The track selection was tolerable, but no where near as good as some of the tracks he layed down in the past. For example, his set at Trance Energy destroyed last night. There was quality hard epic in his Trance Energy set. His set at Republik had a lot of boring tracks with few quality build ups. As for his mixing being flawless, are you guys kidding. I counted 4 times where the beats clipped and could have been fixed a lot quicker than they were. The number one thing that stopped me from dancing was when he butchered the bass on his mixes. Almost all of the mixes where obvious, me personally, thinks a good mix is one that hard to notice. An example of a quality mix would be anything by the Therapist. A flawless mix (let alone set) should keep you moving the entire time. Once again, compared to many djs, it was good mixing, but I expect more from a world class dj.
If nights like this are getting the rave reviews they do, then R.I.P. trance... I guess the days of old are now over!
