Yea I agree. Trust me, I’m not an atheist…but I get REALLY get annoyed by atheists who get so damn defensive when you even bring up the topic of religion..it’s like frickin calm down, no one is pushing their views on you, relax.

My mom thinks most (not ALL) atheists have no god in their life to not have guilt for their actions or what they chose to do with themselves…I kind of agree, but again, this depends on the individual and she agrees with that too.

I also agree with Inverse’s post about religion being harmless…obviously I’m not talking about the extremes here…but I mean what’s wrong with following a belief system that promotes all good things in life such as forgiveness, acceptance, peace, etc….

NO! DAMNIT U CANT MAKE ME BE A GOOD PERSON! lol

pink, ur forgiven i thought that was a bit out of character for you to just attack my mother, but ok, i guess u didn't realize i was talking about her...so that's cool.

Being a proud atheist myself, I believe that your mother has no right what so ever interfering with the raising of a child that is not hers.

By the way, why don't we let kids decide for themselves whether they want to believe in something or not? Religion is one of the foremost causes of todays problems in the world. Let kids decide on their own whether they want to believe or not instead of, what i'd like to call it, brainwashing them from the moment they are born. Brainwashing kids doesn't exactly bring solutions to forms of religious conflicts.

Religion is an old concept. It's roots lie in the Dark Ages and it was used as a weapon to strike fear in the hearts of the population. To control the people so to speak. No offense if you believe in some kind of God, but i think the idea of religion is outdated. I have no place for a God in my life. Faith is in your own heart, your inner strenght.

Just my 2 cents n-e-way.

Satanism doesn't promote peace or war. It just admires the darkness that's in humans, and their filthy elitism.

A lot of wars aren't based on religions. A lot of wars are made by fat cat kings who aren't even religious themselves.

As for religion separating more than bringing people together, you are right, i'm not going to disagree. But I do think people have to keep an open mind. I am a christian and if I were to marry a person who isn't a christian and is another religon I would do it. Because we don't know what's going to happen in this world when we die, and no God is here right now at this moment helping us, we humans help ourselves. And no, it's not a sin for me a christian to marry someone else of another religion, because I don't think it's a sin, I went to Catholic school and I can confirm that shit 100%.

normally i could understand where you are coming from, it's just that 50% of the time, they ARE pushing their beliefs on me. and that makes me defensive all the time.

As long as you feel you are a good person of morale and character, who needs a belief? If you do, great, if you don't, great too.

People like that usually have skeletons in their own closet and have to have a belief/faith to feel better about themselves.

my mom just thinks it's important to at least introduce the child to some form of religion so that he is at least exposed to it...then later on he can make a decision and she would accept it.

i agree with that totally....once again people, i'm not disagreeing with my mom when she thinks it's kind of sad that my cousin is just going to be raised with no religion or KNOWLEDGE of it whatsoever...i disagree that she is butting in...

see when you put it that way, i agree with you. but learning what religions are out there and practicing are two different things. i also think a child should have an understanding of both eastern and western religions, not just the ones that stemmed from judaism.

Exactly how I feel. I mean,

DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT A LOVING GOD WILL CONDEMN YOU IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN HIM?

C'mon people use reason and logic (no pun intended).
