There are more types of EDM you know

Haven't heard either of them. At least, not the full release, I have listened to the Fundacion sampler that was floating about a few weeks ago, and although I was impressed by the technical aspects, the music just bored me to death.

About ISOS4, I haven't heard it and I probably never will (save someone else plays it when I'm there), but as I'm not at all impressed with nowadays trance, I would probably dislike it anyway.

Still, EDM consumes the majority of my music listening time. Just, others forms of EDM.

I cant believe anyone hasnt mentioned Twelve by tilt? those vocals in the middles gets me everytime, wishing I could get some sort of extended vocals for that track, its simply amazing.. On the other hand, UR (junkie) its just so incredebly not good.. the beat itself it too speedy while the vocals are nice and calms so the track doesnt have any flow what so ever

I found ISOS 4 quite boring, tho' havent listened that much to it, probablly will on the plain back to norway in 2 days..

Definitely not.

ISOS 4 is a decent cd overall. However, compare it with ISOS 3 and it sucks, but that's because ISOS 3 is phenominal. There's no real build on ISOS 4; no devastating climax. The cd's would have been better if some of the tracks were in different order. Switch tracks 1 and 2 on cd 1, do away with the crappy lyrics on track 4 and that would have been better, but hey I'm not Tiesto.

As for UR, I like the mix, but the depressing lyrics don't go with an upbeat, almost rock and roll remix of the song though. So I like the vocals and lyrics and the music as well, just not together. Ruins the flow of CD 2 IMO.

Overall though, I can listen to both cd's, even with some of the elementary mixing, but ISOS 3 still puts it to shame. Maybe he should have gave these cd's a different title since it isn't true to the ISOS franchise imo.

Yeah I like a lot of the songs on ISOS 4, but I would agree that he should have switched some of the songs and even taken a few out, so some of the edits, like the edit of Why by Ahmet Ertenu, he could have played longer. I think Palma Solane, as much as it is a great tune, should not have been the first track on the 2nd CD, the 2nd track should have been a slower track with either "People I Used To Know" by LNQ, Slow It Down (Mathilda Remix) by Mad Arps ft. Julie Harrington, or "Sounds Rushing" by Dominic Plaza, even "Gravity" by Greyarea. However I think he could have taken that track out and just left one song called "Gravity" by P.O.S instead near the end, with Palma Solane used as the end track (to me it fits better at the end or closer to the end then as a first track). But like you said, we're not Tiesto....

Party Hat How I rank my Tiësto comps

Magik 6 (the pinnacle of Dutch trance comps and the Magik series) > ISOS 2 > Innercity 99 > ISOS 1 > Magik 5 > ISOS 3 > Revolution > Magik 4 > Parade of the Athletes> Magik 3 > Magik 2 > Magik 1 >Magik 7> Nyana > ISOS 4 > Summerbreeze (the first American cashgrab, will always be my least favorite)

Oh I forgot the Forbidden Paradise series but whatever, they're not so relevant here.

I don't much care for Summerbreeze either. It's ok, but nothing special. The Brightside disc of Revolution is almost identical to Majik 7. While those cd's are decent and good to chill out too, nothing spectacular. I think I would have to rate ISOS 3 as first favorite.

Yeah it's almost identical, but Revolution was better. Magik 7 is my least favorite Magik, but it's still decent. It was really dissapointing when it came out right after Magik 6, but Magik 6 was virtually impossible to top.

I love ISOS 3 but wouldn't rate it that high because my Tiësto taste is a bit more old school and that mix compilation was made past Tiësto's prime (2000-2002, or coincidentally, before he was ranked #1 by DJ Mag).

I think that if Evolution was the last track on CD2 , it would have been more like a real ISOS album - having that great climax at the end, something that Only One does not have.

or if Perfect Silence was at the end of CD2 [don't know how easy it would have been to do something like that] - now that would have been great.
