I was thinking "God," but he couldn't get it.

His guesses (in order) were: a hippopotamus, an iceberg, a month, a halo, and diabetes.

So he started off reasonably close (hippopotamus) then got further away (iceberg, month), and then got close (halo) and closer (diabetes). Not too bad overall.

and then gave up

...

uh EDIT: somehow after about 18 pointless and meaningless, irrelavent questions, it guessed girlfriend.
