Morgan Freeman = perfect narrator, especially for a movie like this, I don't know why someone said he sucked.

Malek: I'd never read the book or seen the other movie, so personally I was hoping they would just all die at the end! That would've been a nice, sinister ending that would've left everyone uncomfortable leaving the theater...But in Hollywood all the loose ends have to be tied so everyone's happy!

obviously, it can't end in a massacre, its just not the type of ending people expect. What would the point of the movie be? Show people being exterminated and thats it? It can't be like that.

Yeah I guess that wouldn't have worked either...people would still be like wtf...But the way they did it wasn't much better...I was waiting for some deep meaning from Morgan Freeman when he was talking at the end.

But what did he say? No man should live or die....................in vain. or something like that...What the hell did that mean?

Wassup guys, Just came from seeing the movie, I saw it at 2:40pm (Est) in the afternoon, I only wish there were more people in the theater, The place was partially empty with the exception of some people in there, Anyways. As for my review. Let me just say that I never read the original book, My only memories of War of The World was the 1953 movie which I have vage memories of seeing when I was young, I heard the entire 1939 radio play before, So speaking as to if this version lives up to the book, I wouldn't know since I never read it, But anyways. I'm a huge scifi fan, Since I was little. When I first saw star wars, It was the one movie that got me hooked into scifi, So in the past I seen many great scifi films that brings out the little kid in me, Anyways, The movie. In my opinion, This was the best alien invasion film I ever seen, I was a fan of ID4 when it came out, But that movie wasn't a true alien invasion film in the sense that it combine elements of disaster movies, But with aliens thrown in, This on the other hand, Is a 100% true alien invasion film, You get to see things on a personal level like anyone would if it were to happen in real life, The action was relentless from start to finish, the moment those tripods emerge, I was blown away by there apearance, When they start powering up, It sounds like a jet engine when it's started, I love the sound they make when they are calling the others, It's a very loud humming sound, Also, The sound of the heatray was awesome, It's sort of this really loud buzz, The proformances were fantastic, Tom Cruise did a fantastic job at portraying your average joe, But with a bit of a New Jersey accent, Plus, Tim Robbins, He did a an incredible job at playing someone on the brink of insanity, You can't help but feel for him for his lost, While at the same time, Become disturb at his action of wanting to fight the aliens, Even though it would be impossible, Anyways, The ending of the film was fantastic, It was said that the end of the movie would nether stray or mimmic the book, But I think it does, The aliens did die of the same things thats been plagueing humans for years. I feel as though, That there might be deleted scenes, I remember reading the cast list on someone cast as the Doomsday Guy, I can only hope that we see deleted scenes on the DVD when it comes out durring the fall season, It will be load with extras and I hope it's a two disc set as apose to a 1 disc with very little to offer, Anyways, This movie is a surround sound fans dream and, I cannot wait to own this when it comes out on DVD in a few months.

We're talking about the second time they used the van. After they crashed in the house for that first night.

The news van?..i was thinking thats what you meant. Anyways, yea itd be a dumb ending if it jsut ended in a total massacre then you would of been like...so why the fuck did i see this movie if thye jsut all died whats the point.... every movie has a morale or else it would be jsut one stupid ass movie. but it would be nice if something unexpected happened, they were all hugging then BAM!!!! the get crushed by a falling tripod thing. owned!!! Haha well thats my 10 cents, i really dont care what most people say like tom cruise is a terrible actor and the movie is terrible cause then you can ask them to go act out a better part or make a better movie, but then the genius answer of "i never said i could" would come into play.

The movie was awesome, It was 100 times better then Independence Day, Independence Day wasn't so much so an alien invasion film, I see it as a disaster movie, But with aliens in it, They don't do much in that film but bomb the cities with one blow, WOTW, You see them moving around causing major destruction, But you see it from a personal point of view, If you were in that situation, Your first reaction would be to get out of dodge and fuck everything else.

I dont think it was a bad ending...it was just so abrupt! Like one min everything was happening, you where on the edge of your seat and then suddenly oh they seem to be dead. If they had stretched it out a bit more it would of been better. But still an awsome movie and the sounds! Also the bit where they where in the basement was intense lol

This movie is a steaming pile of shit. Probably the worst movie I have seen recently.

I cannot believe how bad this movie was.

War Of The Worlds is the original space invaders story. Everything else that has been "hashed out" is actually copying War Of The Worlds, so if you're going to hate anything, hate all the rip-offs that have been made since War Of The Worlds was written.
