Whatever mate...there's only one reason why everyone is here. At some point in their musical taste, they were into trance. Whether they did a google search for "trance" or knew someone on here...one thing brought them to TA...and that was trance.

My tastes have changed. I'm a prog whore admittedly. But ************, I love trance. I may listen to more prog then trance now. But I'll never forget why I came here. And all this elitists and mctrance whores came here for the same reason...

So stop hating...

It's also crazy how many people associate trance with techno. This gets to me since trance is not techno. Plus they tell me it's not dance-able? Well, I'll give'em that one since I haven't seen a proper way to dance to trance music other than the jumping and bopping of the head.
as opposed to just grinding?

Hell NO!!!

There's something trance and other EDM does for me that nothing else can, not just at parties, but any time of the day. These are feelings of great joy,(sounds cheesy but no joke). So embarassed I'm not, I'll blast EDM proudly hoping all will hear, especially TRANCE. The emotions, energy, and power are nothing to be embarassed about and those who think otherwise, just don't get it.

Yeah, here in central florida it's all about the damn breaks. But I couldn't care less, I proudly walk into my record store and walk right up to the trance wall. It makes me diffrent than all the rest.

There shouldn't be anything embarassing about listening to any genre of music. It's the simple minded people that have stupid things to say about it.

In Portland gay house rulz all. Well in the dj store (Platinum) it's something like 70% house 20% hip-hop 10% trance/techno/tech-trance/everything else lol. Which may be somewhat normal. But I know the same shop in Seattle is maybe almost a quarter trance.

Anyway, I know the 1337 snobs that work there give the evil-eye to those that approach the dusty 4 foot section, but I don't really give a crap. I just wish the store was more like 80% trance (preferable prog) like stores in Holland/Sweden/Amsterdamn etc.. (are they like that? IDK) Oh well.

Other than that I don't really hang out with people that dis trance, they aint really worth the effort.

Well I rarely listen to trance now, if ever, but I get what you're saying.

The people that know me know better than to argue with me, and the people that don't know me that try to make those generalizations just get laughed at by me.

Ask yourself this though: are you listening to the music because you enjoy it, or because you enjoy the status it has?

Not in Sweden. Here there is hardly ANY electronic music in the shops.

Most people I know just say, "Hey, cool, whatever," when I tell them that I listen to Electronic Music. There are the occasional few that go, "Oh, like that Techno stuff? That's so repetitive," yet I don't get flustered nor upset about it. I like what I like, they like what they like. As long as I'm happy, I could care less what others think about EDM.

I hate all that bloody criticism about my music ...

EDIT: To the topic - NO, I never was and never will be embarassed that I listen to electronic music. I tell everybody about the kind of music I listen to, and I have already made a bunch of people like some it in some contexts. I am a very proud electronic music fan! All those dissers and jealous people who think their type of music is better than EDM can kiss my hairy yellow arse right in the crack!
