it shouldnt bug me but it does. like i know people have their own opinions and i respect that but it does bug me when im listening to it and people just start bitching and moaning about it.

then i start going on and on about their music and mine and how they're being hand-fed their musical opinions while i freely choose what i listen to, not based on popularity, but on personal preference and a deep enjoyment.

yeah, idk

Ditto. I don't usually comment on their choice of music unless they repeatedly attack mine. I'll go off on how most of the stuff they're listening to sounded exactly the same five years ago, while what I listen to has truly progressed. If they tell me that EDM is repetitive, I'll tell them to take the lyrics out of Hip-Hop/Rap, and then get back to me.

While I tell them that, I'll laugh at how easily they fall into the media/MTV's statement that what they are providing is new, fresh, is the forefront of creativity.

Ignorant, MTV-loving kiddies = Funny

I was just thinking, it's not necessarily true that tech-trance has no emotion. That's just another annoying stereotype - some people seem to think that the harder a track is, the less emotion it carries, which is ridiculous.

I brought up this point on Armin's forum when I was complaining about the state of ASOT. People were like "but we want emotion, we don't want hard tracks". These people seem to think that the only "emotion" that exists in trance is with watered down, whining vocal shite. As a producer myself, there have been times where I've made some nasty hard psy track, and I've channeled multiple emotions into doing it.

It's not just wussy G&D 125bpm tracks that have emotion...

Totally agree with you. I think it's just that people are used to Armin playing some softer stuff, and harder shit on his album doesn't come on very well with them.

...known from a videotape the two made when they met in March... in Dresdens home, Dresden amputated Gabriels penis and Dresden and Gabriel ate the penis together...Gabriel had insisted that Dresden bite his penis off; this did not work.. Dresden used a knife. When that knife turned out to be too blunt, Dresden used a sharper knife to slice the penis off. Gabriel apparently tried to eat his share of his own penis..but could not because it was too..."chewy". Dresden then sautéed the penis in a pan with salt, pepper, and garlic.

i dont care if some one doesnt like trance.

what i f0kin hate is when some one says that EDM is not a form of music.

hate it if you want, but respect its musical quality.

lol i just read this whole thread and i must say there is some ignorant people on this earth .. lol .. who cares what genre of music anyone listens to ? just listen to what you like and let everyone else listen to what they like . if we all liked the same things or if we were all the same , imo life itself would be pretty fucking boring . just enjoy music man ! its the best thing out there after sex i mean , isnt music what brings us all together on these boards etc etc ? live and let live guys .. there is no such thing as bad music ! (well maybe country , freestyle and pop and hip hop ) j/k .. our scene would be so much better if everyone would stop all this bullshit just cause they wanna be different .. bullshit imo . peace
