The German Trance sound!!! This was one of PVD's best set in the US by far.. dont know if itll ever be topped out. The encore was orgasmic!! This was the PVD ive been waiting for since the beginning of his US tour.
Any hoot, I hadnt been to a party since like judge jules @1015, and let me tell you. I was dancing my ass off since Steve Angello started his set. Guy had me moving, and im a pretty big guy too .
Anyways, I took my digital rebel and they wouldnt let me in!! I hate that shit., they said it was too big of a camera! WTF is that.
Anyways I was able to bring in my h320 mp3 player and record the sets, except for PVD, which the battery had died at about the second song!. If anyone wants it, let me know I can send it out. |
I take it you did not see PVD at Space during WMC this year??
Yes the German Trance sound.. I am really not into it.. To hard for me.. But that is my taste. Again there is a time and a place for everything. I like it when PVD sticks to his Uuique sound and on the more progessive Trance edge.
Oh ya PVD also played Crush. One day he needs to get Second Sun to sing it live! Now that would be Dope!

The opening DJ was alright. He played that one annoying 80's song twice, for some reason.
Eric Morillo fucking SUCKED. I actually love house music, but his style is just plain shit. There wasn't even one song I enjoyed by him. I guess I shouldn't say he sucked. Everyone has different taste. But his style is defenitely not my taste. He turned down the music 3-4 times, just to hear the crowd cheering. That is such a petpeeve of mine!
Mauro Picotto ROCKED, as usual! His set felt like it went by in literally 10 minutes! Before his set, I told him to make sure and play really really really HARD, and that's what he did!!! He honestly wasn't at his best though. With a 1.5 hour set, he didn't really have time to build up his set like he normally does. He prefers to spin 3+ hours (I wish I could exprience a set THAT long by him). In massive events like this where u play such a short time, the only choice u have is to play bangers to please the crowd and make everyone jump and dance. He played the good old favorites, including:
Pulsar (some remix that sounded like Verdi).
Coldfunk (his remix of Clocks)
Tao Tek (one of my faves)
Dark Room (one of my other faves)
New Time New Place
Funky Time (that new song he made with Fergie)
some electro type of song that made everyone dance, (forget what it's called)
and a few other sick tunes, including that sick, twisted intro!!
Mauro was also extremely exhausted from his gigs he had on both thurs & fri night, but he still did what he could to please everyone! He gave me his new cd, which I've heard already, but I still took it from him. hehe He had so many DJ Groupie girls trying to talk to him and take pics with him. It was hilarious. Some bimbo even thought he was PVD!!!
Edgar V was cool, for the 30 minutes I saw of him. Especially that first song he played, it was beautiful. I know I've heard it somewhere before.... Someone told me he never plays more than 30 mins, and only opens for PVD? WTF? lol
I went to go say bye to Mauro, and thats when PVD came on, and it was cheesey right away (in my opinion of course). Again, I shouldn't say anything mean, cuz everyone has different taste. But, I left to go to Spundae afterwards to catch the last hour of Larson & Jethro's set! |
we have mauros pr person herel.

no unfortunatly, I only travel around cali for his gigs...
I like his other sound too, shoot i havent been disappointed. Wasnt crush the first song he played, followed by the otherside, (which I sang out loud too, people around me where looking at me as if i was onE, and I kept getting asked are you rolling? lol i hate that but i guess that why alotta people go to these parties after all, i just kept saying no not yet. I was holding my zippo up high, as high as it can be for the encore... Did I mention he signed my Tshirt. I was holding it up for him to see.. it read PURE PVD.. He saw it, did a double take and gave me the thumbs up. At the end of the night he signed it, while security was trying to kick me out. lol ill post a picture up. Hopefully he plays at love parade, or else i wont go. Caravan anyone?!

Hey everyone im new to tranceaddict and i was at independance this weekend. all i can say is that it was AMAZING! i got in right when Angello went on and i think his set was really good. he had some sick tracks, especially the one with the greek music mixed into it. THAT WAS SICK! when Picotto started with his intro it made everyone realize the sickness that was ahead of them throughtout the night. that intro was long but it set the tone perfectly. his set was was awsome, and it really fucked me up. Edgar V. came out with one of the best songs ive heard live for a while. his set was the perfect set up for the master(pvd of course). PAUL VAN DYK RIPPED THE COLISEUM APART!!! his set was perfectly hard and the bass he was throwin was very very sick. he looked like he was really into it to which got the crowd going even more. i really wish this event lasted till 4 at least. imagine PVD for another hour on saturday.WOW.
Aside from the music the enviroment was pretty cool the staff was nice and everyone was ready to party.
Anyway... im Chris and i hope to meet everyone soon.

Got there about half an hour before Picotto's set. Morillo was going off. I remember hearing that old skool song "THERE'S SOME HOES IN DA HOUSE", brought back memories. His last song was bumpin! Then Picotto came on, and that intro was crazy. It lasted for about a minute, but FUCK, it was sick. We all new something insane was about to happen, then all of the sudden BANG BANG BANG BANG! He fuckin went OFF with some sick ass hard banging techno. He stole the show, imo. PVD was alright, but I'm not really into that floaty, melodic shit. I stayed till the end. Fun times...

I meant the dancer with the gray military type outfit. The nurse had some impressive rockets, but chubby for my taste. I do not like too big like J. Lo and Beyonce. I like small and round.
