God I thought we'd escaped all the bullshit about al-Qaida but I was wrong!
Just seen the Charles Clarke (Home Secretary) interview and they asked him whether this attack might have had anything to do with the UK involvement in Iraq...
He said that they would have attacked us anyway. He said their aim is to destroy our democracy and way of life! He says that Spain was attacked in Madrid and they only had a little bit to do with Iraq (!)
Mi5 and the police are subserviant to the Home Office - go figure why nobody had a clue about this with this joker in charge of them!
Surely the BBC can find someone who knows what they are talking about?! Here's a hint...dont ask politicians! |

i find it totally f'n ridculous that high-level politicians are saying that this is attack on all of the nations, the civilized world, and humanity and the that the attacks are indiscriminate and against innocent civilians. bollocks. |
Well ofcourse politicians will say that. They're trying to divert attention from the real reaons of the attocity to generate support for their policies. They take advantage of the fear and anger caused by such events to generate public support for their proposed policies and solutions. It's not very hard to manipulate a scared and angry public. It's called propoganda. I forgot who said this but, "Propaganda is to democracy what violence is to totalitarianism."
And rightnow, we're seeing it at work. Expect lots of bullshit answers from politicians and people in power. Expect them to play on your emotions. Expect them to say things that will fuel anger and hatred.
Atleast some people are aware of the motivations for such attrocities:

1. the attacks were not against all nations. they were against england, a 'coalition' country. non-coalition countries were not attacked.
2. the attacks were not 'indiscriminate'. see above.
3. the attacks were not against innocent civilians. the english just re-elected tony blair. they had a chance to throw him out but they didn't.
i feel sorry for the people that lost loved ones and the injured, but not the nation (if that's at all possible.) |
